Hi everyone!
I traveled to Guilin via high speed rail from Guangzhou back in December, spending 3 days in this beautiful city. Personally enjoyed Yangshuo’s beauty the most and would love to be back during spring or summer!
Booked a tour with trip.com, but i am not gonna recommend it because the tour guide & itinerary felt lacking 🫠

I've got to say that Guilin is a beautiful place... it's where I met my wife. But you missed out on some of it's beauty. You should've checked out the sun n moon pagodas at night... wonderfully lit. The mifen is best where you see all the locals packed around the tables. As far as Yangshuo, it's best traveled by boat down the river where you can see Old China Town, the loon fishermen, and the horse painted mountains. One thing you definitely missed out on in Yangshuo was the opera solely conducted on the water called Impressions.... you've got to make it back there without a tour guide and just enjoy it. As an American, I found Guilin and Yangshuo perfect for sightseeing and the people are welcoming, even thru all of the staring children and elders (lol)

Thanks. I will go to guilin next week with my son and stay in club med for few days. Then, i will stay in a hotel near elephant trunk later. Struggle whats the best plan for downtown and yangshou . I am interested in your restaurants. Looks yummy and clean

You can take a walk around the area that your hotel especially at night that area there is one famous place that tourists and local people will gather for some food and the atmosphere

there is a 桂花 trees on the park and when you take any types of transport as you can see at the pavement you can see it and you can smell the 桂花fragrance when you just have a walk

I guess the bee hoon queen is revived in guilin, albeit a different style of bee hoon. But looks like their taste is much saltier than what we are used to.

Intercity train. You can book it via trip.com and it will tell you the station names. No recommendation for land tours as I did not have a good experience with mine.

When touring China it is best not to go with a tour group/guide. They will find all ways to rip you off ..... Anyways i am so looking forward to your work vlog tomorrrow.

For me, the language will be a barrier. I only speak Cantonese and English. I guess I have to use Google translate which isn't always 100% accurate.

I agree, the tour guides are a rip off. Try to avoid using them, I rather ask my relatives and use them as tour guide. Take them out for a nice meal afterwords.
