Kamaʻāina here and so lovely to see all the places you visited with your girls on Oʻahu 😊 I learned to surf as a young girl from my brother at the beach area between your hotel and the Hyatt Regency at the surf break called Canoes - hopefully you & Jun will get to try it, sandy bottom and easy, catchable waves. IMHO I think Tonkatsu Tamafuji is overrated and a waste of time waiting in line. Next time save time and go across the Honolulu Zoo to The Park Shore Hotel and try the tonkatsu filet at Yoshitsune, the island’s best kept secret for the most authentic Japanese cuisine. Glad you had some moments of sunshine ☀️. Most tourists don’t know we have a “winter” season from October through April, with rainy and windy weather, especially on the windward side of our island where you were at the Kāneʻohe sandbar. Next time venture out to the leeward side to the Four Seasons or Disney ʻAulani at Ko ʻOlina where you’ll, as we say, “guarans” (guaranteed) to find sun!
