New sith wars really needs to be mentioned more. The empire and republic fought for 1000 years straight, causing a technologial dark age and who knows how many died? To add to this point both the empire and republic collapsed during the war, and they still fought each other while their own faction was in in a hundred pieces.

Chewie who lived through the Clone Wars and the Rise and Fall of the Empire … phew, finally I can rest. It's not like there's anything outside the Galaxy that can threaten us.

The sheer scale of the SW universe is mind-boggling. So many places, enviornments, characters.

The mandalorian wars are one of my absolute favorite wars in science fiction. And we have barely seen any content displaying the brutality of the Mandalorians.

I like the darker storylines of Star Wars which is why I like legends

I hope that the new Grysk aliens become like the new Yuzhan-Vong threat in the near future. They are the species that Timothy Zahn had introduced in his more recent Thrawn novels, and he seems to be setting then up to be a grave threat; so much so that even Palpatine had sensed them, when he felt a disturbance in the Force, and sent Thrawn and Vader together to discover the origin of the disturbance, in the Thrawn: Alliance novel.

I love/hate that Legends still pumps out better content than corporate interests ever could.

The Yuuzhan Vong was NOT outside the force. It was proven in the books that they were just harder to sense and effect with force powers. But Jason Solo learned how to sense them from an old birdlike Jedi from before the clone wars and even luke got such a lesson from her when he couldn't sense her when challenged to do so.

Against Vong armor, even lightsabers had greatly reduced effectiveness.

The Vong are horrifying. I think why they made the list rather than the New Sith wars is because of how much devastation was caused in such a short timeframe. 365 trillion in four years. Just put in perspective that on our own planet, there's just under 8 billion people. That's akin to everyone on Earth dying at least a few hundred million times over in 4 years. Legends has a lot of content that's just pure nightmare fuel. Sith that eat entire planets and the Rakghoul are just a few that make the list. Canon just doesn't carry that same punch. As much as the parasitic worms in Clone Wars were creepy and the Dark Troopers in the Mandalorian came across as incredibly intimidating, there's not much of a fear factor unless you're looking at Vader (Fallen Order, Rogue One).

Yeah, they were immune to The Force, while being alive, but I like the argument used in the novels that it was a punishment for the atrocities they committed in their own galaxy, plus, it makes a good story narrative for an enemy The Jedi to fight to be that way. Otherwise, The Vong would join the long, long list of enemies, including multiple Sith Empires that were soundly defeated by The Jedi over the course of Galactic History. The Jedi can't be invincible, or else they're not super interesting as a group of people to root for, and feel for them when things go bad for any of them, because everything is good in the end for them, anyway. Having a powerful enemy that is immune to the greatest weapon The Jedi have (The Force) makes them actually seem threatening, and convincing to the reader that these Vong are serious as a threat to the galaxy we know, and love. 2. I hear a lot that suggests that much of the controversy surrounding The Vong is because they simply killed Chewbacca at the onset of their invasion. If my rant above said anything, that's total 🐂 💩🐎💩. Having a loved character in the franchise be killed in the beginning of the series sets up the gravity of the oncoming threat posed by The Yuuzhan Vong Invasion. Yeah, Chewbacca's death was very traumatic (both in, and out of universe) but THAT'S THE POINT! It makes the future conflict seem serious, and real to us readers, and makes us emotionally invested in the series to come, since Chewbacca was just one of over 365 TRILLION people of all species that also died at Vong hands, also including Anakin Solo, as well. I don't remember hearing NEARLY as much controversy over Han Solo's death in The Force Awakens. Why get inflamed over Chewbacca's death so much, but not a peep from the fandom over Chewie's best friend's death as well? 👉DON'T👈 take this as permission to further harass Disney for doing the same thing to Han Solo that Salvatore did to Chewie, I won't tolerate it! But, at least show more consistency with fandom-wide reactions to Han's/Chewie's deaths than some Legends lore is on certain topics. It seems hypocritical, otherwise. Okay, to summarize, The fandom REALLY needs to lighten up on the hatred on some characters, and their actors, and they also need to show some cohesive consistency with their reactions to controversial moments in Star Wars lore. I'm done.

A better name would be "STARS WAR" because there are several stars and one war at a time. But visually it doen't have the same neatness.

War is not violence and killing, pure and simple; war is controlled violence, for a purpose. The purpose of war is to support your government's decisions by force. The purpose is never to kill the enemy just to be killing him...but to make him do what you want him to do. Not killing...but controlled and purposeful violence.

Dead wrong. The Clone Wars-the collapse of the republic-was far more “deadly” to the galaxy as a whole than any of the others. The republic ACTUALLY collapsed. The Sith of the Sith Wars, the old Sith wars, the new Sith wars, the great hyperspace war, all of the previous ones ALL failed to achieve that. Because they didn’t have pre-suit Darth Vader. It was the time of the greatest martial artists in the galaxy. Lucas said that himself. An era ripe with master swordsmen/duelists and combatants who are also insanely powerful force users. I’d way rather live in 25ABY than 19BBY.
