DNA double helix models: This video demonstrates 3 DNA double helix model Ideas for Biology students which are also called 3d DNA models. You will learn about How to make a 3D DNA model project for science exhibition (working model for science exhibition). (como hacer una maqueta de adn facil)
Chapters-
0:00 Introduction
0:26 3d DNA model with beads
3:05 DNA MODEL with straws
5:35 DNA double helix model with popsicles
We have used straws, wire, beads and Popsicle sticks to complete this DNA structure Model project DIY .
For rotating DNA model Central Axis we used bicycle spoke.
Requirements:
1) Popsicle sticks:
amzn.to/2THeiLs
2) Motor 150 RPM: amzn.to/2UgbWDG
3) Cell Battery holder: amzn.to/3xtAsPR
4) popsicle sticks Hole Punch tool: amzn.to/3vAYEyr
5) Multicolored wooden beads: amzn.to/3xvHXpG
amzn.to/3d8cv9l
amzn.to/2UghNc8
6) Glue gun: amzn.to/3gAe3Lm
7) Glue Sticks: amzn.to/2U9nUid
8) Flash Acrylic Colour Set : amzn.to/2S4ipkg
9) Tri-grip brush: amzn.to/3gAUykw
10) Aluminium Wire 2mm: amzn.to/2TEfcbC
11) 5 minute transparent epoxy adhesive amzn.to/3qHK3AF
DNA double helix Model shows exactly the same characteristics which our DNA shows.
1. DNA double helix model
2. ~ 10 base pairs per turn in 3D DNA model project
3. Central Axis of Project of DNA model
4. DNA Model shows ( 3.4 A° in real DNA) gap between the two bases.
5. A pairs with T ( two hydrogen bonds) and C pairs with G (three hydrogen bonds) in DNA Working model.
6. B type of 3DDNA MODEL (B- DNA 3D model).
7. Right-handed turns in DNA.
9. Most importantly, showing Major and minor grooves.
10. The major groove is wider than minor in this model.
11. DNA model Project ideas are based on Watson and Crick model of DNA.
*****************************************************
One can use these DNA model using popsicle sticks and DNA model using straws for Science exhibition project and also to decorate your biology laboratory.
This Making of 3D DNA MODEL project is useful for every class students like, class 4, class 5, class 6, class 7, class 8, class 9, class 10, class 11, class 12 and undergraduate degree students. This model of DNA is very simple and easy to make.

Hello... Dots on popsicle represents hydrogen bonds between nitrogen bases... adenine and thymine binds with two hydrogen bonds.... Guanine and cytosine with three bonds.... Different color beads on sides represent pentose sugar and phosphate group attached to Nitrogen base. Pink is to represent pentose sugar and blue represent phosphate group. Still if you have any queries please feel free to ask me😊👍...

Hello Ranjna... Agar bonds dikhane hai to straws diameter and wire diameter small hona chahiye. Double bond ke liye 2 wire beads se pass honge and ek wire ek straw se pass hoke dono wire firse beads pass honge. For 3 bonds use 3 wires. I hope you understood what I am suggesting 😊. Still if you want more information please let me know. Best luck for your DNA Model 😊👍...

Hello John... I apologise for your inconvenience. Actually I haven't thought about it, measurements. But what you can do is try to cut equal length of the wire (two pieces), long enough to show 20 to 25 nitrogen basepairs. And to make basepairs cut wire according to the size of your straw pieces. John if it doesn't help you, let me know. Will measure the length of wires and tell you in the evening... 😊👍

Hey, Maira, I will try my best to make it earlier, till that you can try yourself too. You just need to buy motor from Amazon store (~100-150 RPM SPEED) and attach third DNA MODEL to it. It will rotate as I have shown it in the video introduction. It is actually a very simple step so that I have not shown it in the video. And I think their I have made a mistake, because so many people are asking for it. I will definitely try to make it as early as possible. Best luck 😊👍.

Hello Sameer... Thank you for showing interest. Those straws, I have used, are just to show presence of hydrogen bond between nitrogen bases. I have used two colours to make it more colourful, not to show the two hydrogen bonds. Those straws are in one line, whereas, hydrogen bonds should be parallel to eachother as shown in last DNA model. Please feel free to ask anything related to the models...🙏👍😊

If you are planning to use tissue paper then you can dip them in home made wheat flour glue and roll them to make round beads. Also you can use wheat flour to make beads. There are so many options 😊👍. If it doesn't work, let me know, we will find out some other options 😊.
