It's time to graduate from the good ole 8th note singles around the toms, or the pat boone debbie boone to something new and exciting, and absolutely musical.
This lesson is perfect for beginner or early intermediate drummers who need to work on their fill vocabulary. Each fill in the lesson is unique from each other and very useful.
We bring in different techniques and voices on the kit by implementing the hi-hat and linear style fills.
All 3 of these pack a punch and all beginner drummers should learn these 3 drum fills!

Yes please!!!!!! I bought a kit 20 years ago and played for about a year and I was never really that good because my drums were too loud to practice at home so I only got to practice at band rehearsal. And that was really just playing songs rather than going over and over things like complex fills. Fast forward 20 years and I now own an Alesis Nitro Mesh kit which I bought about a week ago, and the combination of KZfaq tutorials and being able to practice as long as I like without annoying anyone has resulted in me being back up to speed already. I've never incorporated the kick drum with fills before so I was keen to learn that last fill. Using the kick drum in the fill felt totally alien to me so consistency was all over the place at first but after half hour last night I had it at 60bpm. And tonight I managed to play along to you at 100bpm and it's starting to feel quite natural. So yeah, keep up the beginner lessons please :-)

Ive been eyeing that dual crash for almost 2 years. You think it would work in a loud live rock setting? I just love the sound of it but not sure if it'll cut through.

Yes you should, it’s an amazing crash. It still has a lot of volume, just lower frequencies that a bright cymbal.

In this first film, why not R hihat - L snare - R snare - L snare - R floortom? Instead of R hh - R sd - L sd - R sd - R ft?

it's easier to play this phrase like R-RL, imagine playing all these notes on the snare
