Thanks for video, was deciding between WPL and WD40 Silicone. Although I saw that regular silicone spray should work, I am not 100% sure of other ingredients in the silicone sprays, even though WD40 silicone says it will work with rubber and plastic. I rather use stuff formulated specifically for it, without damaging internals parts. My fork is a coil fork, but I want longevity from the bike. Thanks for details about application and flipping the bike over. I see other people recommend it too. So just reassured for me.

I think the biggest takeaway from this is to REMEMBER to really wipe off the oil from the fork and shock. Otherwise your just asking for dirt and grit to come right back.

As a mechanic myself, that's spot on, nailed it on all the important topics and even the vital tips at the end, nice! I like how you wiped off your suspension even though your bike was dirty, clean suspension is more impartant than tho whole bike being clean, that should speak out to some people that are scared to touch their bikes!

The Fork Boost is meant to clean out the seals under the top lip. Like I said in the video, clean the stanchions of the product to make sure no dirt sticks to it. I promise you that I've had nothing but positive feedback from customers with this stuff. I would not encourage use of a product that's going to harm anything.
@collinmcballin
@collinmcballin 5 жыл бұрын
@@TheLostCo I'm right there with you on that! Yes it Pulls the dirt right out of the seals, DOES NOT put dirt down in the fork. Love when people pretend they know what they're talking about! Keep it up

Thanks, Mike, for introducing me to this WPL ForkBoost Lube. Truly great stuff (from multiple aspects - bio-based/env-friendly & quality/performance), and I'm completely sold. Though initially skeptical, now I use it religiously, almost as often as lubing my chain regularly for every ride. This stuff is really great, most noticeably on dropper post (then on fork, then on shock), in terms of feeling butterly-smooth. While at it, I also picked up WPL suspension oil (20wt) - also great stuff. Thanks!

I always spray a tiny bit of teflon based lub on the stanchions to clean them, work pretty well and after it helps seals to wipe the stanchions from dust or mud during the ride. Putting the bike at reverse will let air bubbles in the brake circuit go to the calipers. Which means that you will have to bleed more often (calipers are also more difficult to bleed than levers !). It is better to just put/hang the bike at the vertical and it will work fine

Im from PH, what specific teflon based lube do u use?
@paulosh0w829
@paulosh0w829 5 ай бұрын
Nothing particular. A regular spray bottle from Decathlon. I just spray it on a rag that I use to clean stanchions of fork and dropper post when I clean my bike. Then I compress fork/dropper post and remove the remaining dust moved by the seal during compression. Note that I do not lubricate the stanchion with it. It is only what remains that helps seals to wipe stanchions. I say that because stanchions are not supposed to be lubricated. Excess of lubricant can do worse than better. By gluing dust and mud on parts. In fact today I kind of give up this because I am more lazy than before :) And I did not really saw a difference when servicing my fork or dropper.
