Dr. Leanne Dillard, Alabama Extension Forage Specialist, shared a presentation discussing the use of forage legumes for cover crops, at the Forage Legume Conference, held in Marianna, Florida on April 12, 2023. Legumes provide ground cover, reduce soil erosion, increase forage nutritive value, provides increased animal performance, provides better growth distribution, lengthens the grazing season, increase available N in the system, and reduces some fertility needs.
