If only I could afford you...I’ll be depressed all day again after watching this, I have a 3/4 acre impossible garden, I’ve spent 23 years trying and fail every time, I’m buying a lottery ticket and if I win, I’m calling you first 😂 keep safe dear bunnykins, your videos have brought such joy to me in these awful challenging times. 🥰

O’ most of us can’t afford Bunny, but I learn so much... these videos are such joy! The glass really is half full of water and half full of air... for me I learned about the urns that have tops... great idea for my little suburban garden that is covered in feet of snow❄️☃️🙂

We design all sorts of gardens for all budgets. We work very differently from most Landscape Architects, as we spend a day with the client (who provides the survey) and then having decided with the client what is needed, we draw up sketches to scale. This is then refined throughout the day as we respond to the clients reactions to our proposals. At the end of the day we hope to have a scheme we are all happy with. You could do a million different permutations on any outdoor space , but this way working with the client on site, we hope to get the best solution that the owners are happy with, can maintain and hopefully can really enjoy. All the gardens on my videos were done this way. For more info look at my website, it’s embarrassingly out of date, but gives you an idea, hopefully! Bunnyguinness.com

Thank you for your videos. They truly help me get through winter, when I have several inches of snow, and am dreaming of gardening season. So glad I was able to visit the UK and Chelsea flower show in 2017. So grateful for any travel now, even into my little town. Sending love from Washington state, USA ♡♡♡

I love the attention you give to hard-landscaping Bunny ~ especially playing with a change in textures, scale and geometric pattern. I especially like the wide paths you create ~ so many garden owners feel compelled to have just a metre wide path especially in a small garden which I think gives a mean 'pinched' look, and makes a garden look even smaller. Your gardens clearly survive the test of time!

Hi Bunny, Thank you for your videos...The gardens are so beautiful and a real inspiration. Can I ask the name of the Wisteria please? I'm planning to plant 3 wisterias against a 10ft tall red brick south facing wall this year, and I'm really struggling to decide on one!

Stunning gardens! A real inspiration and it makes me realise that with all my own ideas and love of gardening, my ambitions and dreams for what I can get out of a space are not nearly ambitious and coherent enough, and that it really makes a difference to have an expert like yourself help develop the designs and main schemes. And I admit this happily as someone who professional researches landscape history. Can I ask, is the greenhouse a Hartley?

@bunnyguinness

She said (!) they are Crataegus prunifolia, they are multi stem specimens. Amelanchier (which Wiltrud says looks similar) I find much more difficult to grow if the soil has lime in it. Also Amelanchier is not nearly so tough. But they are beautiful trees too, although the blossom a bit too fleeting.

@@bunnyguinness thank you 🙏 I have acid soil here in far Northern California (think mountain & forests and cold winter NOT beaches!) I have a Crataegus laevigata that does well...never seen the prunifolia ☹️... but I will be looking! My big garden problem is DEER 🦌!😩😱

@@bunnyguinness I'm surprised you wrote me. Sorry, I didn't want to upset you. I mainly wrote that amelanchier looks similar, because some people have allergies and Amelanchier would be a good substitute for Crataegus in this case. Usually people have worse allergies to Crataegus as to Amelanchier. And sorry for the bad English, I hope you understand what I wrote. It's a great garden!

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful..... thank you. May I ask another question about bottomless pots? Living in Zone 5 in New England, I wonder about the hardiness of having plants above ground (even after their roots penetrate the ground). In colder climates, would it be wise to only use bottomless pots for plants rated for one or more colder zones - in my case Zones 3 or 4? Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love of gardens!
@bunnyguinness

Great comment thanks. Yes if I was in a seriously cold area I would avoid using plants that are slightly tender.🐇

Bunny what education do you have in landscape design?
@bunnyguinness
@bunnyguinness 3 жыл бұрын
I did an honours degree in Horticulture at Reading University and specialised in landscape design in my third year than did a three year post graduate diploma in Landscape Architecture at Birmingham City University. I worked for a few practices for a few years before setting up my own practice 36 years ago. It definitely is one of those things that you never stop learning - every design that grows in the ground teaches you something different about playing with spaces, and with plants it’s the same. Always fascinating, never straight forward!🤣

The amount of money 😲 which this client stole from others in terms of low wages and who knows what else. It is very beautiful but the house and courtyard look like Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto CA., USA. Doesn’t look like a home. Nothing to do with your design, Bunny.
