thank you for this video! i was thinking off moss but then i found out moss lawns don’t grow so well with the florida sun, so i’m really glad i came across this video, the first two are definitely my favorite 🤩

Mimosa and peanut are great because they can be ripped out by hand. Asiatic jasmine will require motorized excavation once established. It belongs straddled by concrete deep in cities or hotel lobbies and not in an American yard. Many plants are promoted that just coincidently require a motorized industry to manage.

Doing research to replace my lawn. I'm in Texas and this high water bill and lawn maintenance are insane. I looked into Kurpia so far but will add peanut to my list. Thanks for the tips and visuals

I'm sorry, but I don't know much about Las Vegas grass or lawns. I know the biggest priority is drought-tolerance out in your area though. Good luck!

Most local nurseries have them. You can use plantant.com to locate which nurseries carry them as well.

Any contacts for nurseries in Orlando that would have these? How do these do with foot traffic or pets? I was also looking at Dwarf Carpet of Stars to use as a ground cover.

I'm not super familiar with nurseries in Central Florida, as we are jn Gainesville. I would recommend the website plant ant to search locally.

How good are peanut or mimosa varieties for foot traffic…..or let’s say dog traffic? Also, do they become dormant during the central Florida winters(or at any time of the year)?

Generally, we do not mow them except when tall weeds are growing between them as they grow together. It usually is easier to pull them though.

I would add compost to your planting as you install the plugs - or if you're unrolling it like sod, you can topdress a quality soil for it to begin rooting to.

Hello. I live in the panhandle and was curious how the perennial peanut would do being added to an existing lawn of centipede? I put down the lawn about 6 months ago and already have dumped considerable money into it via fertilizers, chelated/liquid iron and the ongoing war with spittle bugs. Would the perennial peanut eventually overtake the centipede grass or cohabitate well? Any info would be greatly appreciate...since it's kinda hard to find any information on this matter. Thank you in advance, sir.

It will do fine if you plug it in and water it to keep it growing. Eventually it will grow throughout the lawn and compete with the centipede for domination of the lawn. However, typically they tend to coexist pretty well.
