After watching you with the Chig and seeing how cool you guys are, I had to see more and sub.... Glad to have found you guys! For polishing out spots like that, get some Happich semi chrome metal polish. It comes in a small tube for about 9 bucks and lasts a very long time! I use it to polish scratches out on my guitars and anything else that requires a fine and careful polish that leaves a spotless and perfect finish.

When you asked if that lead crystal candle holder was good, and Andrew said "used to be" I sat her shaking my head, because I say that all the time when I go thrifting. I went antiquing a lot in the 80's and 90's with my husband's aunt and learned everything I know about antiques from her. I want to cry when I see many of those same beautiful glass pieces and furniture pieces for pennies on the dollar of what they used to be worth. I'm glad to see some "young people" putting value on and taking an interest in the older things. I say young people, because I'm a grandma now. We taught our kids to appreciate the older things, and now they both love antiquing and thrifting more than shopping retail. I especially enjoy your thrifting videos that you guys do together.

Jocelyn, just wanted to make a comment about the little cedar box in your cart at 6:00 in the video. Furniture companies in some parts of the country used to give those as a gift to graduating girls back in the day- '60s and '70s- to encourage them to come in and buy a Lane cedar hope chest and other furniture. (Girls used to gather their special linens for the day when they would marry or set up housekeeping in their big cedar "hope" chests, for those who don't know what that is, lol). Some of the little boxes have a lock and a tiny key. The box is worth more if you have or can locate a key. Where I live, a local locksmith keeps the keys on hand to sell. If the little box has the name of the furniture store that gave it away and you decide to list it, it's good to mention that because women search for a replacement just like the one they had. I say women, because I don't know if they gave them to graduating young men also, lol- they may have. But all the women who I know received one. Just realizing, Sue probably already told you all this since she is close to my age...lol! Great shopping video...makes me want to go to Goodwill! :)

How do you find out the names of things... like the Amaretto glasses? How do you ID them if they are not marked? I just picked up a wedding cake topper from the 40s or 50s and I have no idea what it's worth. It's old and it's in mint condition.

Years ago I was in TN doing some picking. I found lamps like those at a yard sale. The man said the price was...."I don't know. A buck 'er two." We went straight from there to an antique store. My father was with us. He called to me sort of startled. I went to him and he was standing in front of the same lamps there at the store. They were $80 each. He said, "I do believe that you guys actually know what you are doing with this stuff!" It was a proud day for us :D lol

If you would have polished that lamp with Pepsodent toothpaste it would have been shiney new! Pepsodent works on brass, silver, gold etc and also on any white clothing that has a stain...well in my experience, Pepsodent will whiten, brighten anything. I've also used barboasol shaving cream on many black car grease carpet\clothing stains, brass, gold, Sterling silver etc...both Pepsodent and Barboasol has worked on everything I've tried it on

I didn't catch the price of the Blenko cruet, but I wonder sometimes why, if you find a piece of art glass with a stopper, and it's really cheap, but the bottom is damaged, you don't buy it just for the stopper? I see lone stoppers sold on eBay. Personally, if my lower glass part had no stopper, I'd use one to keep the dust out, even if it were a different (but complementary) color! And folks whose stopper broke would be happy to replace them.
