Definitely, I'm glad my generation is getting hooked to and new kind of metal, and also it is showing us the world of metal, and making us listen to classic metal and rock.Getting us to like that as well!

Anything that keeps metal and rock music alive and kicking for years to come is fine by me. I actually like Babymetal, and I also grew up on bands like Metallica, as well as AC/DC and Kiss. I'm open to things that are different from the norm, but sadly some people just aren't of the same mindset.

So happy to see comments from people who "get it." I am an old rocker from the 60's and 70's and love the direction this has taken.

All 3 girls came in a right talent agency to form a group of teen pop idol which led to form Heavy Music club christened the name Babymetal. This rise to fame was unexpected and the whole world of music fans, J-pop, anime & manga, and metal fans all merged to Babymetal fandom.

+povkilla That's right, I think one of the most remarkable fact is that they seem very humble and genuine through their speech, and they transmit such a good vibe, instead of hate and vain, as most pop singers/groups there are these days

+povkilla They work them like dogs. Some girls can't take it and quit. They were expecting it to be all glamour and no work. Interestingly, each idol studio elects one girl to be their president who's responsibility is to put the rest of the girls ahead of themselves and always offer encouragement, even as their own confidence might be lagging. They have to be strong and never let the other girls see weakness. In the studio where Babymetal was spawned, it probably wouldn't surprise you that Su is that girl.

shadowheart52 You're correct about everything you said. Even the bit about Su. I know that they factory like assemble these J-pop lolita bands all the time and push those girls, as you said to total exhaustion both mentally and physically. I wouldn't be able to do it, that's for sure. However, Babymetal has a totally different vibe from all the other factory assembled bands that get churned out of Japan. I'm not dissing Japan and how they build bands, if the people in Japan like that, I can as well. But Babymetal is definitely special and Su does bring a lot to the band strength wise. She's a bit older than the twins and has already seen her fair share of bands before they learned what metal was. I applaud them. They rock and so does the rest of the band of course!

Sure in my personal opinion they are the greatest band around but I am not going to take my opinion and try to cram it down some else's throat. Helen Reddy introed a band and I was like WHO?.... then I was watching four guys in face paint doing this song and fire and smoke and OMFG...I was laughing and saying wtf, yet......loving it. It was 1975, I was 14, the band, who else? KISS......last week I clicked a link off of CNN, some pic of 3 Japanese girls claiming to be a metal group wearing some designer shoes and the rest of the week I've been feeling the same way I did so long ago. I pray to God or Fox God, or Budda for their safety and well being for the long cruel road ahead of them. peace
