I have one, got it 3 weeks ago. The first three days got me on a bizarre coffee high as I tried to figure out my tampering pressure and coarseness. After 6 years with a fully automated Krups, I finally got at home that tick, creamy espresso that I could only get from the café across the street. It is, however, less efficient. I used to go through 250g of beans every two weeks and now I go through the same amount in a week only, for the same number of shots. So I'm happy. Although, at times, I miss the "push a button and forget about it" approach. The whole process takes considerably longer (from turning on to having the machine clean), but it's worth it. It helps me relax, because I need to focus on the process. The downside is that, even after 3 weeks, 1 out of 10 shots fails completely. =)

i am happy to see, that im not the only one who have problems to get the perfect espresso. i bought this machine for two days without the grinder. and now i have the problem to grind it correctly. i have a coffee grinder but its not fine enough, so i put it in the cruncher after grinding for some seconds and was lucky to get 1-2 great shots from 40 shots in the last hours. this is why i bought my favourite coffee from starbucks dark roast espresso. i bought it grinded and said for espresso machine. now it is sooo ultra fine grinded, that there is coming no coffee out in all filters and also with a soft tamping. i bought again some full beans and grinded it with my grinder and mixed it 50-50. so it works, but not perfect. and now my question. is it normally that the machine cant work with ultra fine coffee or is something wrong with my machine. i would happy if someone have an answer, that its normally and nothing broken. and sorry for the english. greets from germany

Hmmmm sounds like a tricky one! First, sorry you're having problems with it. Have you tried all the different heads? I actually use the head that is the easiest to use (think it's the easy large one). Feel free to send me some coffee and I'll try :-) But do try all the different heads. Big learning curve when you get your first machine. My grinder is set to 2 if that's any help! I only buy beans and grind myself. Keeps more flavour! But yes, If they are tooooooo fine then it's going to not allow any water through. Hope this helps!
@chrissdrescher
@chrissdrescher 6 жыл бұрын
gordi555 thank you very much for the fast answer. its a big help to know, that nothing is broken on the machine, so i dont have to send back. at the basic machine there is also no manometer (the circle for showing how strong is the pressure) . this is why i was not sure. i also tried all heads, but with only the ultra -fine grind no head can work with it. and when i make the mix or grind and crunch it (this is the main problem to not get the same finish all the time) than the double wall heads work much better. the longer double wall at the best. with the one wall heads, there is not so much cream like in some videos with the machine. i think i have to buy a pro grinder, but for this i have to save some money ;o) i also will send some ultra fine coffee to my friend who have a solis, which is the same kind of the machine. i hope it also not works on it. ok, thank you very much again and have a nice time. greets from a coffee-lover

Yeah no problems at all! I basically do a double espresso shot, add my milk and then topup with hot water either from the machine or the kettle to get it nice and hot. It's like having a much better filter coffee without the wait :-) Or you can just have the espresso.

Can you tamp by leaving the actual tamp in place , like some machines ? Also do you find using this becomes a chore the more you use it and wished you had got an actual automatic bean to cup ?
@gordi555
@gordi555 3 жыл бұрын
Not really, the force needed to tamp would lift the machine I'd say. Sometimes, but there is probably just as much faff tax when it comes to bean to cup machine with the waste grinds, waste water etc. If it broke (still going strong) I'd buy it again, if not a better version of it.

I start to fall asleep half way through, why draw it out so long, I ended stopping it writing this and looking elsewhere.

It's so people find the controls at the bottom of the video, so you can skip or speed up - works really well :-) Thank you for the constructive comment. You make the world a better place. Please look for the positives in things instead of highlighting the negatives to try and get attention.

@@gordi555 now whos but hurt? In the first half of video you said nothing really about the product or how it works, i know you was given free to do a video but come on get to the review already. How many times did i need to hear you say that this isnt the best machine and theres better more expensive ones out there? You just went on and on, i think you love yourself to much with your over use of hand gestures. When shooting a video about a product it should be about the product. Not you and your kitchen, 90% of the screen should be the product. Hows that for consecutive criticisms? Well he's some more stop going on and on about everything but the product. I never watched it all because the video was shit and it mad me fall asleep. The only bit i saw was you saying you take this out, empty the water and was it, no? really? Tell me more. Its clear from the video you have never used it. As the item you was showing had never been used. Next time stick to the product and show live demos, not talk shit for ages.

@@jcphotographystudio Look, I don't actually give a flying f**k, just stop spreading negativity and go and peace. But thanks for the winning formula on KZfaq videos.

@@gordi555 apologies because i have taken the time to make videos so i understand its time consuming. You need a touch more structure. Get on with your topic and add your 15 minute intro into the conversation as your getting to the point you advertised your video as. Clearly your an educated person and could excel with some small adjustments to your style. Peace.

I don't believe the audio sucks, I had some problems with the audio and tried to rectify it best I could. It still has lots of good info for the future coffee machine purchases.
