Spot on focus on my big issue: moving from slower "dip picking" to faster "double picking" mostly from the elbow, smoothly (that intermediate speed double picking is really hard), and having coordination between hands at faster double picking speeds. Practice ahead!!! TY!

@@RotemSivanGuitar Going good! It's really intense like I've got so many things to work on everyday, but I'm learning a lot. You were right that playing with others is so helpful; because you need to listen more deeply. Jamming with people is one of my favorite things to do now! It's so fun. Thanks so much for pushing me to do it!

I've been playing for 32 years, many of those professionally when I was younger and around 12 months ago I started to try to learn to pick every note of incredibly fast licks, as it's just something I've never done. Somewhere in that, I started to play with my pick angled downward, such as a gypsy-jazz picker would, and wow, in the last few weeks I feel like something incredibly special is happening. I'm unlocking the technique if you will, but with my own personal 'slant' on it....pardon the pun. It feels as though I'm on the verge of unlocking something truly special. Great vids Rotem, I always enjoy your content. PS. It's funny, I'm also from Australia and when I said "with my own slant", it happens to be that I add some legato notes in the gypsy-jazz style runs, then I seen your comment about Josh Meader etc lol, very uncanny.

Hi Rotem, can you do a video or please give a short answer here on when to use hammer-ons vs. pull offs vs. alternate picking? I realize all these techniques are important but am fairly confused on when the right time is to use them

@@RotemSivanGuitar Hey - I just saw a video this science channel 'Veritasium' and understood sth regarding the light in your background. The explanation is (quote from the video) : videos / img with higher contrast are perceived by the brain with more cognitive ease'. So not the light - but the contrast was the problem why I perceived it as more difficult to watch. Hope this explanation helps. Thx again for what you're doing.

I use economy picking a lot , can that be a substitute for alternate. I am able to play alternate picking paterns or licks using that , but would definitely like to know your take on that.

What exactly is the purpose of this? Does it increase a guitarist's ability to back up a singer; play with another guitarist; play an appropriate part for a song; write a hook; play over a particular groove; play through a particular chord change, or is it a load of wank?
