Business development is one of the most lucrative and rewarding careers out there. But it can be confusing on what skills you need to be successful as a business development representative. So in this video, we'll be going over the top 3 skills you must have to succeed in business development.
List Building For Business Development
The first step to succeeding in business development is list building. This would fall under the category of sales prospecting and lead generation. List building is finding all the companies and people you want to sell to and build a big list. You will later use this list to do outbound prospecting.
Copywriting
The next skill you'll need to succeed in business development is copywriting. In the modern selling world, cold email and LinkedIn messages are some of the most cost-effective ways to generate appointments. So to successfully do this, you'll need to learn the fundamentals of copywriting and how to persuade readers to book a meeting with you.
Sales Skills
The last skill you absolutely must have is sales skills. This is getting on the phone or meeting your clients in person and understanding their problems, and eventually closing the deal.

I think that list-building is THE most-important and what I found to take the most skill in the process due to conderations like social and economic climates, seasonal issues, etc. depending on what is being sold.
