One little top from my own experience is to at the top when arriving into the handstand is to imagine sinking into the shoulders pulling into retraction depression = Slight micro bend at the elbows then straightening them = elevation flexion them otherwise your gets throwen off due to much planching = forward lean

Managing frustration! This is me. I have been to circus class for over 4 years. Mostly playing with Aerials (silk/lyra) and flexibility (bridge/kickovers). This year I'm trying to focus on press/handstand. Part of me thought this would be easier because of my background. I was soooo wrong >.< Thank you for your many tutorials. I won't give up!

by the way, is compression important in press to pike handstand?
@NatalieReckert
@NatalieReckert 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I would say that compression will make any type of press easier. More compression=less strength needed

Practice the negative movement first and make it really slow. I also have three part series in my Vimeo library that explains everything with great detail: vimeo.com/ondemand/handstandlibrary

It terrifies me to lift my legs. I feel I’ll collapse onto my head so I’ll keep going with the kick up practice 😁
@NatalieReckert
@NatalieReckert 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is quite normal if you don't have enough strength in the shoulderline yet, so don't worry. Practice the negative movement first and try to slow it down.
