What a load of crap. @0:15 "...a low fat vegan diet..." 1) Right from the start it's biased by studying only a LOW fat vegan diet 2) It didn't compare it to a LOW fat "conventional" diet so the conclusions are meaningless. I'm amazed people continually fall for this garbage!

So I am looking for a simple ingredients weight loss plan. I am trying vegan diet now. It is very difficult though

Plant-based news promotes propaganda that fish and other meat products as unhealthy and actively prompts vegan junk food from subway and KFC and McDonald's so what is it is vegan about your health or the animals if it is about health then why do you make videos when a non-vegan restaurant make vegan junk food I but go all on aboard when talking about unprocessed food like fish I wonder Plus What the health promotes propaganda that fish and meat are unhealthy The title should be why vegan doctors like to hate anything that's non-Vegan I can make a whole video about why brown rice is unhealthy because the high level of arsenic cause cancer so therefore brown rice is unhealthy what about the DHA IN Fish is better than ALA in plants and much more bioavailable I think I would rather listen to what longest living healthy Japanese are eating whole food unprocessed diets just because most vegans are less likely to smoke and drink alcohol and eat less processed food doesn't mean that vegan diets are Heather at all the fact that pesco-vegetarians had the lowest hazard ratio for all-cause mortality in the Adventist Health Study 2 despite pollution? I can see the ecological and other ethical problems with eating seafood, but doesn't epidemiology contradict the claim that a vegan diet is healthier than a pescovegetarian diet? I don't think I know better, it's just that I see some contradiction here. This study on vegans' use of saying vegan being Heather than meat-eater has clearly shown the opposite true with the fish-eater this doesn't mean vegan diets are unhealthy but not optimal as whole food plants based with some fish since this diet provides all the nutrients from plants and B12 DHA and more biologically available vitamins A and D, therefore, non-vegan diets can be slightly Heather than WFPBD Not all vegans eat this diet vegans do eat refined carbs also added vegetable oils and mock meats is not correct to say that vegans are automatically Heather because their diet is vegan Any idea, why pesco-vegetarians had the lowest hazard ratio for all-cause mortality in the Adventist Health Study 2 despite pollution? I can see the ecological and other ethical problems with eating seafood, but doesn't epidemiology contradict the claim that a vegan diet is healthier than a pescovegetarian diet? I don't think I know better, it's just that I see some contradiction here. Thanks for your reply. The level of mercury in fresh Atlantic salmon is 220 parts per billion mercury so which means That a 3oz serving is equal to 85 grams of Salmon 220/1000000000 equal 0.00000022 grams of mercury x1000 to milligrams then it's 0.00022 milligrams x1000 to micrograms then it's 0.22 microgram x85 for 3oz serving 18.7 micrograms of mercury The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that 0.1 mcg per kg) of body weight per day is the maximum safe dose of mercury. So 18.7 mcg from fish I am weighing about 73kg that's about 161 lb So Roundabout 0.10mcg per lb so my exposure Is within the safe non-risk limit if I eat 85 grams every day which is a lot I eat about 85 grams of salmon 3 times a week so my total consumption a week is about 255grams that's equal to 9oz a week Now we have to x3 the exposure of mercury that's come at 18.7/161 = 0.116149068322981 x3 = 0.348447204968943 Roundabout 0.35 I have to 7x the safe expound limit of 0.1 x7 = 0.7 mcg per pound per week is safe to limit I only would get 0.35 which is well within the safe limit so at this level heavy metals like mercury are completely harmless to get a negative effect you need to be exposed serval times the upper safe limit so you are wrong about fish contains omega 3 and DHA that helps the brain development and lower heart disease anyways if you are still concerned about this explore it safe to eat fish a couple of times a week the benefits of fish completely outweigh the negative so stop spending misinformation If you still are stubborn about not eating heavy metal you do know that you're exposed to heavy materials at a far higher amount from second-hand smoke brown rice has arsenic that's doesn't mean that brown rice is unhealthy like fish the benefits outweighs the drawbacks of combining fish with prominently plant-based is optimal for health 👍 I am not saying that if you don't eat fish you will be unhealthy or anything you could live as healthy Without eating animals products as well I am just trying to inform people that spending misleading information about the health effects of eating meat and fish is toxic does not help promote veganism because veganism has All to do with animals' ethics and the environment because both of these aspects are harming animals directly or indirectly While health is a personal choice nice logic very mon biased video 😂😂 Ca the

My dad has 2 of the 3 mentioned in this video but still shuns a plant-based diet and mocks me for eating that way. He continues to eat a poor diet whilst taking a huge amount of medication... I’ve been preachy and also taken a more laidback approach over the past year but he still hasn’t changed one bit. It’s so frustrating and I’m almost at the point of not caring about his conditions as this very dietary issue has put a strain on our relationship believe it or not.

Made him plant based foods, showed him how to make them himself, bought him a couple of cook books, took him shopping and showed him what to look for. All while his unsupportive, ignorant, worthless wife undermined everything. He's back to eating like shit. Sadly he probably will be dead in the next 5 years. Breaks my heart and I love him no matter what but I did all I could do I can be at peace with that at least.

The only description that fits how hard it is for people to stop eating animal foods is addiction. Heroin addicts have a terrible time kicking their habits even though they know every time they shoot up that there is a pretty high chance they will die. Plus there is no need to inject drugs and so heroin addicts can stay away from people and places where they used to use. But everybody needs to eat and so are almost certainly going to be constantly around people who still eat meat and highly refined foods. So imagine how much harder it is to kick the animal food habit when A) you don't really want to and B) everybody else but you is telling him that not only is it natural for him to eat they way he does but also necessary including his doctors. That anybody changes in the face of these pressures is really nothing short of amazing. Plus diet is also tied in with family and traditions. Giving up all the foods he grew up eating can feel like you are condemning your grandmother who fed him all these foods or abandoning his heritage and its traditional foods. This is basically what my Dad said to me.

I am so thankful for the Docs who are showing people the real and solid research on food and healing. It has saved my life. I have had cancer 3 times since age 21 and I am 69 now. One doc even told me, “I don’t know if I wouldn’t see that Kevorkian guy!” I realized he was more afraid of cancer than I have been. I am an RN and have been reading about nutrition for many years, but have still been swayed and confused about nutrition and studies. Thank you!

I went from standard Asian vegetarian lifestyle since infancy to at-home plant-based lifestyle for the past one and a half years. I still revert to the old lifestyle in the occasional restaurant, but I am 100% plant-based at home. It is the balance that works for me. I have yet to come across any regional group of humans who really is 100% plant-based all the time.

I am a breast cancer survivor, and I had to refuse ALL meds for follow up care due to side effects. The only option I had to prevent recurrence was to go WFPB. I had been on every diet known to man since the age of 11, including keto, and none of them were sustainable. Now I eat whatever I want, I don't weigh and measure a thing....I eat heaping plates of food including whole grains so no elimination of carbs. Within 5 months I was down 45 lbs without effort. I have more energy than I did pre-cancer, and I just had my 5yr anniversary of cancer diagnosis all clear!! The doctors called me an enigma and wanted to know if I had more surgery due to my scans being so clean!!!

My roommate was a longtime cancer survivor-around 10 years-who ultimately died of heart failure about two years ago. He was 83, so he had a pretty successful life. How sad that he had to suffer with cancer and then heart disease, though; congestive heart failure was what ultimately killed him. He appreciated that I lived a plant-based lifestyle, but asserted that he would never be a vegan, just because it didn't fit in with his eating eggs, dairy, and meat-which was really all he knew.

Yeah right. Veganism requires the death of millions of animals to sustain their diet of monocrop grains and herbivore competition, as well as the destruction of their natural habitats down to the killing of bacteria that was used for the top soil. The blood and bone meal used to grow crops is where vegans get most of their food from. Not only that, but the millions of wild animals that are killed by farming combines, and pest controllers. Yes, animal corpses are the fuel for the food vegans eat. Just because you don't see it on a plate, doesn't mean you are not contributing to death.
@twosnakesonesword3299

George Orwell you don't have to use blood and bone meal...lol and how many animals are killed to feed the billions of animals that are slaughtered? Veganism isn't about perfection. Why is the rainforest being cut down? Grass fed beef and palm oil... So because some animals are killed indirectly we should just throw our hands up in defeat and cause the max amount of deliberate harm?

Just a little methodology note, all of the studies cited involved individuals already presenting the pathologies as the control group. Findings described here may thus not fully, or at all, apply to healthy individuals, and there often is a difference between reversing a declared pathology and preventing it in the first place. I'm a strong proponent of plant-based nutrition myself, but I do believe that being pretty clear and rigorous about what a given scientific paper may ou may not allow to conclude, by introducing the relevant caveat and the limits that all studies present, makes it more convincing in the end.

As soon as i went plant base (mostly fruit and rice) i enjoyed a heavy dose of extreme itching all over. This was the 3rd time. First time, super clear skin but i got extreme pains in my sides (mostly raw with lots of water). 2nd time, i ate mostly lentils (with tumeri), rice. I felt extremely bloated and uncomfortable. Hated it. - my timelines are weird. I didn't do it for the animals or health. Just experimental. I like trying different things. I do keto and i feel waaay waaay better. No itching, no bloating. Clear skin. You can be healthy on whatever diet you choose. If it's for the animals then no argument there. If it's for health (individual cases may vary) then i don't buy it at all.

Well maybe you should at least eat cheese." Cheese in under dairy which she told me to not eat or at least really limit. She then started explaining to me about how important animal products are for the developing baby. I immediately took it as bullshit & just went on about my day but I still think every now & then for the saftey of my baby if I should at least be vegetarian. I want to do everything right this pregnancy & want to stay vegan but I am such a new vegan still, all of my appointment they say everything is going great so that is a relief!! Any recommendations?

That shouldn't come as a surprise given that our biology shares more similarities with frugivores than omnivores. It still surprises me every day how many doctors, dentists and other MEDICAL scientists do not make the connection between the way our bodies are build and our ancestors (evolution theory).

You should add links to the studies in the description in case people who aren't vegan want to check them out. I'm sure lots of your subscribers already know these things but for the casual passer by they me at need some more info.

I've gotta say that while I wouldn't say I'm a genuine vegan just yet, I have been transitioning towards a plant based diet over the last two months and I believe I will be probably 95% or better vegan by the end of next month, and I find that the issue isn't about eating as much as you want, but more so, if you don't want to eat too many calories & you want to feel very full, you can do so far more easily on a vegan diet. I mean I ate maybe 1500 calories today and I will be hard pressed to eat anything before noon tomorrow because my diet is so rich with fiber that I will feel full all day. Which is a good thing because I am trying to lose weight. So far I am down about 36 lbs in 7 weeks.

Right on, man. My motivation is ethically based, but having an easier time shedding the extra pounds is a pretty damn cool perk.

@@zacharyshort384 I didn't check my cholesterol or A1C or fasting glucose before I started the vegan diet, but 5 weeks into it, my numbers were all within the normal range despite the fact that I had a BMI of over 40, which means my numbers probably shouldn't be any good. What I do know for sure is that my blood pressure has dropped at least 20 points probably more in the last two months, and I definitely do not feel inflamed which my whole body was routinely before changing my diet. I have lost significant weight before doing an Atkins diet and kept it off for two years, but could never lose the last 40 lbs I wanted to get off. Thanks to intermittent fasting, I have added some additional tools to take weight off that I believe will be beneficial, but the vegan diet improved dramatically today when I realized that guacamole & salsa on my lunch time salad is less calories than my vegan ranch dressing. Guacamole & salsa with beans & long brown rice was great, but guacamole & salsa with beans and riced cauliflower & broccoli tastes just about as good with 1/4 the calories of the rice too.

Biochemically, how would eating carbohydrates reverse type 2 diabetes? Not eating any carbs makes sense in that it reduces insulin resistance and reverses fatty liver disease by pushing the body to metabolize the glycogen and lipids. Packing in more carbs would not achieve this and would promote more De Novo Lipogenesis in a body that's already extremely insulin resistant, no?
@pentachronic

I think that you can add to this that it's good for your liver. I would like to see studies but you can bet that visceral fat is also removed by a plant based diet. I can absolutely attest to the fact that this diet works. Yes a statistic of 1 but heck I am so damn fit compared to what I used to be like. These Dr's are geniuses for figuring out the underlying issues but not so for overlooking the obvious. We are too self indulgent as a society. I think Dean Ornish has figured this out though so hopefully others will get the message.
