In this video I review a 3 point attachment adapter that allows you to use your hydraulic skid steer skid loader and hook it up and run any 3 point attachment. This attachment is made by Paladin but I've also seen them from Wolverine and other chinese knock off brands.
But in the end, is it worth it? This attachment has the potential to be amazing and save you a ton of money, but what are the downfalls? I answer this in the video.
The terrible, no good, very bad day of attachments.

Since that adapter uses a gear type motor it doesn't need a case drain, piston type hydraulic motors have to have a case drain because they leak some internally. A case drain isn't going to cure the problem of the pressure buildup when the motor stalls out. The 287C you have should have a standard flow of 22gpm, and a high flow of 33gpm, since you ran it on std flow that motor is too small which can cause over pressurization.

😂 I was thinking street bike sometimes too. I don't notice how often planes fly over until I edit time lapse videos. I edit out the sound sometimes.

Get a spud wrench for ability to move the ball attachment points that are stuck. A very handy tool.

I appreciate the advice but I think an even better idea is to just never deal with three-point attachments ever again! You definitely get spoiled with the skid steer quick connect. Thanks for watching

Hey Brett. Met you when I was picking a similar item up at Meridian. My NH w/cab the door comes off easy and there is a bypass for it. I tried hooking up to my wood chipper amd I need a 12" pto shaft which is a bit of a problem so far.

Yeah I remember, thanks for watching. I like having heat and A/C too much to remove my door but that's definitely an option. There are definitely downsides to only being one person with some of these attachments!

Need a bypass valve to allow the fluid to circulate after you kill the flow. The blade momentum is trying to force fluid into a closed valve. Bypass valve will solve your issue.

@@BrettsBuilds its not quite the best design as far as ease of attachment... if it were mine id simply devote one or two pieces to it for the year and leave it hooked up...i.e. a post hole digger in the summer and a snowblower for winter. The fact it brings the equipment closer to the machine would make it handy for those applications.

That is a good idea, I do have a couple old 3 point attachments that I could leave it attached to. I'd prefer to designated one and like you said, one I use rarely.

As long as it's something you can hook up once and leave it then I think it could be worth it.

Why did you do all that work when you could have went to tractor supply and got a shorter half shaft! You are making this way more complicated than it needs to be!

Yeah that makes the most sense but on my end it was several parts: 1. I was finding out the issues as I went. At each juncture I wasn't sure I was going to finish. 2. I did go to tractor supply first but their shafts were $300 and I already knew I was going to hate the attachment so I didn't want to spend a bunch of money. 3. If I did decide to keep it, I wanted it to fit my machine and the 3 point is my dad's and fits his tractor. I was just borrowing it for the review. Appreciate you watching, thank you

Turn the lift pins on the cutter so they are on the inside not where they are now on outside. Slide both of lift connectors on the adapter to the center. They should be able to slide outwards on three lift pins on the cutter that you now gave pointed to the center.

@@mikel5140 yes, I did do that in the video, that was the part where I needed the big breaker bar. Little hard to see since it's cut off by the camera angle. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙂
