Hey Brian, Who knew there was someone out there smarter than you? 😉 thanks for some additional lighting options. I definitely enjoy them but like you price is the prohibitive factor for expansion. I have about 17 in my home right now and would love to replace everything else but that’s probably another 30 lights. I did just get some outside lights for my front path and I’m very pleased with them. I will have to investigate options for these new companies. Thanks for providing this information as always.

At last some recognition for Tuya smart life. The scenes and automation are so underated by the community. With everyone just talking about flashing the devices. Tuya scenes are showing up in smartthings, once you see them in smartthings just edit the name and they should work.

Tuya's doing some great things! I haven't had the Tuya scenes working just yet, nor all the products...but I've certainly enjoyed some of the ability to control Tuya in ST!

Great vid as always Bri, I've used Osram bulbs as a cheaper alternative to Phillips Hue & something which can be integrated into both the Hue set up & SmartThings, I've been very happy with them so far, though I haven't tried any of their RGB lights so can't comment on those

Thanks for the great video. I couldn't get smartlife plugs to do anything in Smartthings so I got some Meross plugs and they work. Also it's very annoying ezviz cameras are not supported in Smartthings, only IFTTT lets them automate together. I'm automating and hating! Lol

Would you say having a hub is faster than Bluetooth? You mentioned Yeelight being fast as Hues with local Google integration which is exactly what I plan to use for my setup. Do you have any videos of pros and cons of a hub system like the Adurosmart you previewed? Trying to make a decision between Yeelight and Aduro...Great video BTW new sub here!

Hi Adam, thanks! Most of the Yeelight products are wifi (although watch Wednesday for some BT bulbs). They are fast with Google and Apple but slower with Alexa so it all depends. I would recommend a serious hub over Adurosmart. SmartThings first, Hubitat second. Those integrate with both Yeelight and Adurosmarts lights!

What do you think about the Philips Wiz Connected bulbs? I've been seeing the Color and Tunable 60W A19 and 65W BR30 bulbs for about $12 to $13 at Home Depot.

Not one person has said they love them to me. Says a lot. Personally, I don't think they make a lot of sense, but that pricing is good!

Didn't you set up some changing light color with weather related changes.. I'm wanting to set up basically a Star Trek style Ted Alert and yellow alert pulse lights for bad weather since I will be having my elderly parents come to live with me soon..

Hello sir! Well the Lenovo Smart Clock is made just for the bedroom, so that's an easy one! The Nest Hub feels like a kitchen or living room interface to me, and then I'd place the Original Google Home close by so you can create a good multi-speaker group for sound throughout your main space. Then the minis! Well, wherever else you want music and access to GA. :)

So there, you really only have 1 full featured choice...and that is Hue with their Sync Box. At least today

@@AutomateYourLife There's also the Govee Wifi TV Backlights Kit. I have been debating on ordering one but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Instead of an hdmi passthru, it uses a camera pointed at the screen to match colors on your TV. If it's not laggy, the bonus would be that you wouldn't be limited to two or three hdmi inputs and it would work with anything on your screen.

Didnt hear you mention anything about Smartlife color bulbs syncing with musics. I am looking to enhance my music lighting effect with cheap alternative. Can Alexa do what Google do? U mention at the end that u have a video showing how on Google. I have Alexa :/

I haven't used Tuya to sync with music. Is that possible!? I didn't think so! As for Alexa, the music situation with them is a little bit different but I will work on a video at some point about it!

Don't forget that you can also buy regular LED strips that give you more bang for the buck and simply connect them to a smart plug for simple on and off. Granted you can't issue fancy voice commands to play with lighting, but they come with their own apps and dedicated remote control for that. My daughter bought a 50 feet set for 40 dollars on Amazon for her room.

I own tons of Hue bulbs, Hubitat (main) and smartthings). I bnought a Yeelight bulb because as u said Hue is pretty expensive (even if in special dates u can find good deals) and my experience with Yeelight hasn been terrible negative. Mainly because the bulb keeps losing WiFi connection and I have to reset and configure it again. I got a dedicated Tenda Nova wifi working perfectly with other wifi devices as Shelly switches...just the Yeelight bulb keep getting disconnects. In other hand side my expensive hue bulbs has been rocking since day 1, cero problems, always perfect...and for me only this worth the price. Smart homes have to give us more free time not otherwise.

Hi :) I use a mesh system from Tenda ( www.tendacn.com/us/product/nova%20mw6.html ). I have no neighbours around so no wifi problems, and all other devices had never a single issue with my WiFi. I would like to fix the problem with Yeelight as the bulb has good quality but I can't stand the disconnects...just 2 hours ago I came back from work and my Yeelight was turned on when wasn't supposed to be...it means it lost his WiFi signal again. I'm tired of this so I unscrewed the bulb until I'm in a better mod.

Hi Marc, So what's your internet connection then? If you have no neighbours, are you out in a rural area with satellite internet?

@@AutomateYourLife yes I live in a rural zone, I have DSL connection... Not a fancy one but usable. I have "control lan" activated on the Yeelight. Since last failure of the bulb I reconnected it again and didn't have more issues but right now I don't trust Yeelight enough just yet. P.s with this same internet, Hue has been working flawless

Hue would! I'd suggest you look at Eria's bulbs to connect to your Hue system. Yeelight works great with Google as it has local control, but you could be having a few issues with your connection or Wifi causing you issues. Their devices have been solid for me, and I have a lot!

Nothing can beat that, Govee tried with their camera operated strip but its not as reliable and entertaining as hue sync

@@paul9387 the problem is the hue is based on play lights and it's limited to 10 so anyway there is no striplight so each led will reflect the screen

Philips Hue are ridiculously expensive and not as bright as a lot of cheaper options. They are reliable though. I find the Hue bridge and app is pretty limited, especially given the Hue Bridge is limited to 50 devices before it starts getting slow. I use my hue dimmers and glives on a different ZigBee hub and it's much more responsive

@@AutomateYourLife I find the Hue globes and dimmers more responsive when on deConz or Hubitat over the Hue Bridge. I have installed the Hue bridge at 3 locations for friends, mainly because it's simple for them and it does the job, but for my own install I migrated all my ZigBee to deConz in the end. I used Hubitat for a time as well, just to test an out of the box solution. I like the simplicity of the Hue app for basic installations that need very simple automation, but the Hue Bridge is a bit under powered considering the ZigBee protocol can handle considerably more devices on one co-ordinator

I would have said what about lifx, they have a range of different bulbs, light strips etc. no hub required and HomeKit google IFTTT Alexa Much better colour than hue also

I will not be purchasing any Wi-Fi smart home devices such as bulbs plugs or switches. Only Zigbee or Zwave or other none IP based systems. There is an extremely small but none zero possibility of a virus infecting tablets, phones, PC or others which in turn target the Wi-Fi devices. Yes, I know those Wi-Fi devices do not have much capability or RAM or whatever. A smart programmer can do a lot at 64 kB of RAM.

Hey Tony - Soooooooo...I get why you say this but...ZigBee and Z-Wave devices can have just as big a gap in security as WiFi. It would be false to assume that any wireless tech was infallible. I'm not saying their security methods are bad, just that they all have the same gap - being wireless and having transceivers. In fact, just last year Hue had a security issue with some of their bulbs. Those could be used by people in front of your home to get on your network. All ZigBee....
