My Dad, an Air Force jet fighter pilot, who flew 39 missions in a B-17 with the 8th during WW II, is the bravest man I know. When I was frightened as a kid, he used to tell me "Don't think, just do". At the time I thought it was a really stupid approach. It has taken me a lifetime to understand what he was trying to teach me.

Why would someone want to beat a person in the first place, what's the point of comparing and competing, just to say I'm better than the other person..... one should only compete with there own self esteem and ego without seeking approval. The hardest and most rewarding moment is when you can stand on your own two feet, and say l did it my way, for those who win will certainly lose one day. We win some and lose some, and to except defeat is the way to play, and ones ego will stay at bay.

@Dave Welby: the dudes don’t get it. In order to reach something, to better oneself, one can in the process pass others but that shouldn’t be a goal in itself, the actual winning is being a better version of oneself through hard work and dedication. I get it! If others define the world only in the polar opposite of winners and losers, they forget just like our whole planet there is a world between both poles! They are missing a world of possibilities. It’s kind of narrow minded to see everything through the lens of either just winners or just losers, childish if you’d ask me.

Watching these videos has been extremely helpful to me. I'm currently 21 and starting to finally do more with my life. All up until now I've always been disinterested or afraid of trying new things in life and it's only made me miserable because I had nothing going for me in life. Never accomplished anything, never had a girlfriend, nothing. Now, I'm trying new things like taking up martial arts (which I love doing) and getting myself into college. My whole past I've basically been a loser and now that I've left the comfort zone, I feel my story has just started! My plan is to only keep going forward in life and try new things. Got nothing to lose. And I'm excited!

LOVE THIS!!! Long story short: September, 1987.....I was in a motorcycle accident. An 87 year old man cut me off, and drove over me into a donut shop. Lost my left arm, severe head injury, and just escape death. I won't lie and say I didn't get depressed. But I quickly realized I can either fight and move forward. Or do nothing and truly die. Due to two outstanding parents, I fought the good fight. Was it easy? Hell no!!! Did it pay off in due time? Hell YES!!! I became independent again, married, had two beautiful children. And YES.......I CONTINUED on as a drummer. Crediting Rick Allen of Def Leppard for what he had done. I took his style and applied it to my drumming. Thanks to Jim Darnell, and SIDEKICK DRUMS. It has allowed me to play an ALL ACOUSTIC drum kit. So STAY STRONG, and ALWAYS GIVE IT YOUR ALL. 🤘🏻💪🏼❤😊

When sometimes I flip thru the pages of any of my so far 9 written and published books I realized the task was only possible because I forced myself to sit in front of my laptop every single day and had no expectations whatsover; sometimes I wrote 3 pages and sometimes I wrote 4 and at times I wrote 1... but I always wrote and felt good afterwards, because the single most important lesson I learned in my 55 years on this planet is that life is very short and you must find work that you wanna do everyday until you reach your final day.

I know it because I grew up in dire circumstances and learned the hard way that I had to be the go getter I became. Two important lessons learned early in life have served me greatly. One is it's my responsibility for making my life exciting and building the life I want. Second, every day plan to take time to pause and do something to love yourself and feel gratitude for what good you have done or are about to do. Being in charge of your thinking and thoughts can only come when you learn from the books of choice. Never stop reading the very best as I make living manuals out of them. It's amazing if you get your Spirit, Mind, Thinking, Body, Emotions, Breathing, Passions and Love in good balance. Living full requires experiencing all the good that comes through sharing, caring, doing. If you can't do all that you want to do, do what you can do. Life is beautiful only if you learn to enjoy it in gratitude and feel that invigorating connection to the Source!

A random youtube video about Marcus Aurelius' routine popped up in my recommended feed 1 year and 48 days ago. It helped me organize my life so much better and at the same time made me feel happier as well. I really think the last point nails it - discipline is the key. One quote I heard that still resonates hard with me is this: "Motivation lasts for a day, but discipline lasts a lifetime."

I suffered with stress and anxiety for 2 years. I had gone for counselling and tried a lot of different things to retrain my brain to think positively about life. Nothing worked until I tried something really out of the box for me. I took my first Brazilian Jujitsu class on the 5th of January 2020 after a tough Christmas and trained solid for 3 months then lockdown happened and then in July we got the green light to resume training again. I have trained solid since then and yesterday I got my first stripe on my white belt. I can honestly say it's really helped me and I am really out of my comfort zone but I highly recommend anyone in a similar position to give it a go. Edit *** After training for a solid year I got my blue belt on June 18th 2022. Dedication has paid off

At the end got my 3km in.” Just need to keep at it.

I'm 67 and renovating Our Family Home by mySelf. Most of my Friends are also in Their 40's, 50's and 60's. Some are whining, crying and looking for wheelchairs, and telling me I need to calm down. Fuck that. I'm retired and a working Musician intent to stream soon and get out to rock it live when more venues open up. Sadly I've outgrown a few Friends who talk smack, complain, and just get on my nerves. We hang rarely and do care about each other, but Their energy sucks. We learn from each other regardless. We'll always be Friends, but the silliness had to end. Bottom line? My ripple in the pond is keep moving, keep learning, keep looking forward, be the crazy motherfucker I've always been, and just continue to enjoy life. There's a saying: I'll love You when you're old and grey and feeble and broke... but I won't be with You. Rock on. Hahahahahaha
