Its worse here, our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

People believe their currency has the worth it does because they have no other option. Even in a hyperinflationary environment, individuals must continue to use their hyperinflationary currency since they likely have minimal access to other currencies or gold/silver coins.

Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire.

I've tried investing in the stock market several times but always got discouraged by fluctuations of stock value. I would be happy if you could advise me based on how you went about yours, as I am ready to go the passive income path.!!

I came across a lump sum I'm conflicted as to where to invest it, some of my ideas are A. All in on SCHD B. A 33.3% split between QQQM, SCHD and SPY? Or maybe 60/40 between SCHD and some other stock? I wanted to hear what you think! I'm lucky though, Im only 31, so I have plenty of time for compound interest

First matter to understand is you don’t want to punt on a stock on Tesla. Its EV business is struggling and that revenue source is needed to fund all of the other dreamy projects Musk has. That is and will cost $10B’s to complete. At your age, it’s far better concentrating on growth ETFs. QQQ or a semiconductor one. They are expensive now so wait for the upcoming reporting season to see the markets reaction to the numbers. If the figures don’t match up to expectations, there’ll be a correction. It’s important to think long term not short term. That’s contrary to my assessment of Tesla but the difference is in a tech ETF like the Masdaq 100 you are getting extensive diversification in companies with substantial current and future earnings. It is low risk high return investing with levels of high volatility at times. Take into account the Nasdaq 100 has achieved 22% pa compound returns for 10 years. That’s over 700% return in a decade. A semiconductor ETF has achieved 25% pa compound returns. That’s over 900% return in a decade. Go through 20 to 30 ETFs with different qualities (wide moat, AI, software, tech and S&P500) and choose the best returning ones taking into account that there are substantial crossover in holdings on many tech ETFs. Choose 5 to 10. You can hedge your bets by buying on a regular basis to even out the peaks and troughs. I and my sisters portfolio cracked five million dollars last week and I will tell you this be aware many dividend ETFs don’t have great capital appreciation and some are just in effect returns of capital as the capital value falls. Always invest in equities on a 3 to 5 year basis. Have a look at this site for some of the amazing returns you can make over extended periods. Over a 30 year period ,an ETF growing at 15% will be worth over 66 times your original investment. 100k will be worth $6.62M. Make that 20% pa, the returns are amazing. $23.73M !! Chances are that’s the figure you could have at age 61. Don’t punt on a high risk stock like Tesla. Chances are on a best case scenario the returns won’t be much better, the most important to remember is that ETF is much lower risk. I can’t reinforce that enough. Good luck !!

If you are only 31, I would go with option B. 1/3 SCHD 1/3 QQQM & 1/3 SPY (SPY is a great S&P 500 ETF but IVV & VOO are good cheaper alternative for a S&P 500 ETF), good luck 💸

I have FEPI and SVOL. Pleased with the income. Price appreciation has been OK. I cap these holdings at a small percentage of my portfolio. That may change once they have a longer track record.

*SVOL* on the long-run (weighting: 4 parts), mid-term *QQQI* and sibling *SPYI* (2 parts each), and *FEPI* near-term (1 part).

I own a lot of SVOL & QQQI. FEPI is only covering their high distribution now because Tech has been rocketing up. When the Market becomes normal, FEPI will be exposed and will either have ROC (lower NAV), or be forced to greatly reduce the distribution. 20+% distributions are not sustainable in a normal market.

Long-term... prob FEPI... then QQQI... then SVOL. I would say SVOL is prob not a great long term investment since if the market has a flash crash for a day or high volatility for a period of time, you could be wiped out... or crippled to the extent it could take a long time to get back to even. At least with FEPI or QQQI you still have the underlying stock (but prob need to rotate out of CC and into long or leveraged etf to ride the price back up.

I have all of them, but in an account where I felt I could have only one, FEPI was it. I'll be happy if it is yielding more than QQQI and JEPQ and either it maintains share price or the excess yield beyond my target is enough to maintain my position at the same value. I'm wary of SVOL. If it looks like it is behaving well then it might become my choice after FEPI.
