The last story struck a nerve. The actual bloody hell. It's one thing to hire a stranger to babysit for a few hours while you go to dinner but to hire a complete stranger, one who isn't even an adult, to watch your children for a few days while you go on a "couples retreat"? Your young, extremely vulnerable children? Thats some straight up child endangerment. They didn't give two shits about their kids. Seems the 8yr old little boy had more parenting capabilities than his actual parents.

I agree! This is how parents inadvertently cause trauma in a child's life. They had no business hiring another child to watch their own kids.

Kids need to have the confidence to expose people like Nathan. He should have definitely told his parents. You might just be saving someone else from whatever Nathan was going to do. Never be embarrassed or ashamed to call out someone you think is doing wrong. Especially when theres kids involved.
@bruhmoment3106
@bruhmoment3106 Жыл бұрын
Tbh nothing Nathan did was warrant to be “wrong” per say. The only legitimate thing I would say was wrong was him coming in the room and flipping over the blanket. But even then is that what really happened or did Nathan needed to check up on him not realizing that this is not the best move, also Nathan checking up on his sister at night seems normal, and him avoiding the OP that day is something I’m pretty sure any teen would do. Maybe Nathan got annoyed with the kids and try to stay away from the kids as much as he can before he had to make sure they’re ok. Idk I feel like I need more information to make any legitimate claims that this was “wrong”
@luciuseclipse
@luciuseclipse Жыл бұрын
@@bruhmoment3106 If he was just checking on them why would he need to silently sneak into the room, and then remove the blanket? Most babysitters checking up on a kid would just crack the door open peek in and see that the kid is okay, then leave. Sure, there may not be solid proof he had bad intentions, but it's definitely creepy and a big red flag. Also nathan seemed interested in playing with the girl before, so why would he completely avoid her the next day? There are too many red flags for it to not be a problem. At best Nathan needed to be taught some big boundaries about babysitting.

I get your frustration, but I totally sympathize with the kid's feelings of embarrassment and shame. Fear of retaliation is an overwhelming feeling for a child to experience, and children often times won't say anything because of that fear. Expecting a child to debrief his traumatic experience to his parents is a bit of an unfair expectation to place on an 8-year old, particularly when it's all on Nathan. If anything, I applaud the fact that the kid's first instinct was to protect his sister.

The 3rd story is crazy. The parents accept a complete stranger as a babysitter just because they went to the same school, when they should’ve left their kids with someone they know and trust. And they should’ve given their kids an emergency number to call them if needed, but they didn’t. Just leave the kids in the hands of a creep and go care free on a weekend trip.

I remembering being 8 and my parents would ask neighbor teens to watch us. Nothing bad ever happened. Back then you could trust people a lot more. But today, ain’t no way in hell I’d ask a neighbor to watch my kids. Just because they wave at you every day doesn’t mean you know who they are behind closed door. To the person who wrote the last story, it wasn’t your fault. You were a child, and you were scared. I was abused as a child, and I witnessed my friend be abused as well because my father and my friends father were partners and both apparently were child predators. I was nine when I was witnessing my friend be abused and I have harbor so much guilt my entire life because I never called the police. But in therapy I am being taught that it wasn’t my fault because I was a child too. It was the adults fault for what they did.

If your child is telling you that there is someone or something bothering them and scaring them, do NOT brush it off. While most children do have an overactive imagination they almost never lie about things that they consider harmful to them, especially with specific things like "there is something in my closet" or "someone's tapping on my window". Even if it was just their imagination you should still check so you can build that trust with them. You don't ever want your child to not trust you with things like that or they might end up like the kid in story 3.

There was a really great safety awareness ad I saw about this, don’t remember who it was by, but a woman gets home, turns her lights on starts undressing. It’s completely black outside her windows and she can’t see anything. She keeps taking clothes off thinking she’s in private, until it’s revealed she’s actually some muppet-esque creature in a human disguise, but then it cuts to outside her house and you have full view of the naked monster sat on an arm chair or something. Even though it’s got a somewhat funny punch line/tone, it was still horrifying enough to stick with me. The tag line was something like ‘just because you can’t see anyone, doesn’t mean no one can see you’, and that’s how five year old me learnt the close-your-blinds habit

I remember one night the MPs pulling in and we saw their son being taken away in handcuffs. Didn’t know what happened until later that he SA my friend for some time. Same for the babysitter in second story. For 14, very smart not to just immediately dismiss what the kid was saying. So far, if I had children, and needed a babysitter, I would gladly hire either one of those two. as for the dude in the last one, poor guy. People who prey on kids like that are worse than evil.

That last one _really_ got to me holy shit. Poor man blaming himself for the actions of a predator. I relate so much and it pains me. Also, in my eyes the kid was a hero, he protected his little sister and took care of her and of himself. A true hero.

The person in the third story was very brave. Not only because he stood up to his sister, but for telling his story. If I were in his shoes I still wouldn't have told it. We need more people like him who are willing to share their vulnerabilities. That way people like Nathan can be off the streets.

I know a guy called Nathan after watching this video i confronted him about it and Of course he played dumb and pretended he didn’t know what I was talking about so I laughed then proceeded to smash his knees in with a rubber mallet and beat the living shit out of him. What’s strange is throughout all this he still refused to admit what he’d done.

Okay, that last story is definitely the scariest to me. As someone who had a cousin attempt something and then me not tell anyone, I understand the guilt. For years I worried that he had gone on to successfully molest someone, possibly my nephews and nieces. But I now understand that I didn't say anything because I honestly didn't understand the situation. When you're really young, you question if things were really as they seemed or if you were overreacting. I finally understood that not only did I know something was wrong and that I wasn't overreacting, but I figured out how he had been grooming me to trust him. FU Chris.

It amazes me that parents don’t listen to their children. Sometimes you have to listen real hard too cause the child may not know how to express their feelings or tell you how something happened. What’s the reason your child doesn’t like the babysitter? Or the guy next door? Or the kid down the street? Listen to the children

That last story is sad. Kids feel powerless in a terrifying situation. And the solution sounds so simple…as in, tell your parents, but the fear paralyzes you, especially if kids are threatened not to tell. It’s a special kind of hell. And sometimes you don’t even know if an adult will believe you.

I had a nightmare babysitter when I was real young. Tooo old for a crib, but she forced me to sleep in it as my single dad worked nights. She would lock me in the bedroom and her 3 boys would take turns scaring me or abusing me. I finally got the courage to tell my dad some if what happened because they threatened me if I told. My dad finally got me out of there, but the trauma stayed with me for years!

The first story was creepily similar to an actual experience I had as a kid, all the family details matching my actual family, I remember being the only child who was terrified of the closet in our room i would always scream or cry until someone came, with the only differences in the story being we all had the same room, my oldest brother would of not asked for another game before bed he would of just turned it off and went to bed, and the biggest difference of course was no one was actually in the closet i was just a kid afraid of stupid things.
