you are a great teacher. just mastered sideways superglides, now zig-zag. also is Ras strafe the same as neo-strafe ? since sometimes people call the same tech different things..

maybe a dumb question, but i noticed when u scroll the number says 3 and then 6, when i use nohboard overlay and scrol it just says 1. is there a setting i can change

@@PeskyFrank you are moving your mouse a bit like in tap strafing right? im not too sure if im doing it right half the time

Yeah I am a little. 95% of the RAS strafe comes from your keyboard inputs. 5% is a little mouse movement to kindof steer your body so it's more smooth. You can test if your doing it right by slide jumping, RAS strafing back the direction you came (like the octane clip @ 1:10). I hoped this helped!

Scroll jump necessary? I always use space bar for (attempting) RAS strafing, but use it all the time for super jumps.

Scroll jump or spacebar doesn't matter but I personally find it much easier to scroll down (jump) then immediately scroll up (tap strafe) to make the RAS strafe tighter.

I've watched this video so much lol. Do you scroll up the entire time you are tapping W-D-holding S or just on certain keys? I'm not sure how to tell if I am doing right or just key stroking myself in a airial circle lol

You want to start to scroll up when you tap W and keep scrolling as you Tap D then Tap S. The Scroll up help create a smoother circular movement. Test if you've done a RAS strafe correctly by trying to RAS strafe out of a diagonal slide: Step 1 - Hold A+W Step 2 - Slide Jump Step 3 - Tap W + Scroll up Step 4 - Continue Scroll + Tap D + Hold S You've RAS strafed out of a slide jump correctly when you've carried 95% of your slide momentum into the opposite direction! @@PeskyFrank a little tip, i learned this faster when using octane stim, since you get extra speed, so you get the feeling for it faster. always scroll up! tapping W and scrolling up just adds even more forward momentum

You really should inform people WHY they are using scroll wheel. Scroll wheel has to be bound to either jump or forward. Gonna have players out here swapping weapons mid jump.

is there a way to increase numbers of scrolls when scrolling up? for me its kinda hard to do so many scrollups, whilst u on the video show like 8-10 scroll inputs during fight. Is there any option in windows/ingame to increase like how much ur scroll scrolls?

Unfortunately Joulk there is no way to increase how many scroll inputs in-order to tap strafe sharper. You only need to do 1 longggg scroll up. Each 'tick' in the scroll = 1 'W' tap, and you only need 5-8 scroll 'ticks' to do a 180 tap strafe. So to do a RAS strafe you only need 3-5 'ticks'. Just try to do 1 longgg scroll up Joukl and you'll be fine! Hope this helps!

you dont need that many ticks.. but it comes down to the wheel on the mouse. you know thoes that can unlock the scrollwheel so it just keeps spinning? used to bind tap shot weapons to scrollwheel in old cs 1.3 - 1.6 times :D i don't know if you go to windows mouse settings and turn up how many lines a scroll skips does anything, i don't think so, but worth a try.

@@HasturLaVishnu ye i heard about unlocking scrollwheel but cant do that on my razer viper 😄 im used to scrolling down from csgo but scrolling up for movement mechanic is just something new for me and cant get used to it. Also theres way too many movement mechanics and tricks in apex so it will take some time.

@@joukl1337 cant unlock mine either, got Logitech g Pro x Wireless, but I can manage just fine to tap strafe, zig-zag-Superslides, octane pad 180degree turns and so on. so you don't need that many inputs, its more a question and timing, and get the practice and muscle memory down. did Superslides every day for like 4-5 days before i was able to do my first Zig-Zag, and I'm not consistent at all.. but around 75-85% of the time I land it.. but in the end, movement can't kill as they say, but it can damn well help you get the Kill :) and negate dmg + it's fun and looks kinda stylish.

First it's named after a pro player who's name is Ras (Crazy racoon south korean player). Two you tell people to scroll wheel up/down but never see what your binds are, and that's not a default. bind. There's no tap strafe bind lol

In order to tap strafe, you need to bind MOVE FORWARD key to mouse scroll wheel up. So now you'll have two keys that makes your character go forward, W and Mouse Scrollwheel Up
