Do you ever get stuck after a few layers of paint and aren't sure what to do next? Do you ever hesitate to add more paint because you're afraid to "ruin" what you already have, even though you know it's not complete yet? You're watching the right video!
In this video, I demonstrate and explain the creative process I use while working in a series to get past any hurdles and to ensure that I have a cohesive series, interesting paintings, enough quiet space, and a definitive focal point (don't worry, these principles also apply if you're only working on one painting).
In the first few minutes, I create freely in order to produce bold, interesting marks throughout several layers of paint and collage on a large piece of paper.
Around the 4 minute mark, I cut the painting into smaller paintings and continue to work on these as a series of 16, 5"x7"(ish) paintings.

Materials used: 300 gsm paper, acrylic paint, acrylic ink, crayons, scissors, and a color shaper.
