I'm a Bilateral above knee Amputee and decided to add a Luxury home elevator in my home by Residential Elevator. I do not use a wheelchair, but having an elevator add instant home value to your home, so I decided to do it. This Elevator by Residential Elevator is the smoothest elevator ride I ever had ridden. The system I have is a hydraulic, and it is worth every pennies.

Rule of thumb is about 10k - 12k per stop, for "standard" finishes and construction. It can go up to $15k per floor served if you want to get it totally upscaled. Cheaper if you plan it in while building. A bit more it's it's added after the construction is finished on the house. Historic homes and homes needing more than 4 floors served often can kick you into a small commercial elevator that are about 20% higher, too. Not cheap, but if you're building a 3-4 story home, it's almost expected in most major areas today. If installed right and made to look like it's always been there, it will add more than it cost to the value of your home, in general.

Per stop so you mean first and second floor in a two story home is going to cost 20-24K? And upwards of 30K if it's more refined?

This is an excellent technical video of what it takes to add an elevator to an existing home. Planning and building the shaftway is the critical (and most expensive) part of the process. Each shaftway is different based on home construction. If the shaftway is done properly, building the elevator in the shaftway is as simple as having an adult size erector set - can be built in a couple of days by a proper elevator contractor. I am a contractor specializing in residential elevators. This video will make it easier for my clients to see what is involved. Ordering the elevator to fit a properly built shaftway is the easiest part - depends on customer taste and budget. My focus with customers is in proper shaftway construction.

This is a high dollar one i guesstimate @30+k because they had to build a three story cage and support for elevator, there are much cheaper ones that are no where as fancy but are only 2 stop that run about 10k you get what you pay for.

If you already have an elevator shafts it cost about $25-30k with upgrades...If you like me having to build a shaft on three levels it cost me 55k. Prices may vary based on where you live...I'm in GA

hey im a home builder and am looking to place an elevator in a custom home im building. that price seems too good to be true! i was looking into those vacuum tube elevators. i went to see one and it sounded, felt, and looked cheap and not of high quality and yet the price was nearly 40,000. what type of operation is this lift?

We have a townhouse in NYC. It's got two stores of basement/utilities/parking/storage underneath ground level and then the main level, A 'garden level' that exists to our back yard, and three more levels above plus a roof deck. The lift we chose to install serves all of the levels in the house. We had to construct the shafts to NYC codes and it was not cheap ... all told I spent about $150k but that included the shaft, control rooms, wiring, air conditioning and heating of the shaft and car, as well as very upgraded finishes inside the car and for the doors and moldings etc. I could have done a much cheaper version but it would not have looked as though it had been there for the age of the house which is nearly 180 years A good 'rule of thumb' is that it's going to cost you (Low end) about $10,000 per floor served. Serious upgrades and every option can nearly double that, as can multiple doors at given landings, and and openings onto an outdoor area - they're much more costly to build because of the weatherproofing required. Oh, and we have full battery back up on our elevator. That was almost $30k by itself. But if the power goes out, the elevator will run for several days - and there is a rooftop generator and diesel storage to charge and recharge the batteries if heaven forbid it became necessary to be off grid power for several weeks.
