4 жыл бұрынCambry and I put an Elevator IN OUR HOUSE!! And it is awesome. List of Lift suppliers below! Fully electric, futuristic, and quiet. The lift took a few days to install. About 2 days for the construction and framing, and another 2 days for the lift assembly. But I think it turned out pretty cool. Lifts can be expensive. This one has quite a few safety features that I talk about in the video. Safety is in our like.... top five priorities over here. Obviously. Making a home accessible after a spinal cord injury is not impossible! There are plenty of options out there.

As a father of two young boys struck with a degenerative disease, I can say that this video really helped me with a massive head scraching. We still have time before they get into wheelchair so we're planing on adapting our house to ease their life. We were looking for an elevator solution so they can go on all floors of our house. I was wrongfully thinking that elevator were massive thing that takes huge amount of space. In my head, I was picturing some kind of "hospital" elevator ... god was I wrong. I discovered your channel a few weeks ago on electronics topics, today I gave you a sub. Then 5 minutes later, that video poped up in my screen. Anyway, you're one of a kind! how's it gone so far I have a disease called Nerofibermitoses (Probably spelled that wrong) and it is one that gets passed down generations as my dad has it his dad had it and I have it and there isn't a cure necessary but they can remove the tumors that you get from it

@@superJK92 They're still young enough to move around like kids. They take some medication that can "slow" down the effect by 1 or 2 years that affects their growth. The older one starts realizing he's not getting as tall as his friends. We still have hopes for the best, there are multiple approaches on medications that can slow more than 1 to 2 years, some of them being tested on humans (I sound like a mad scientist). Technologies goes really fast, I even thought that if medical field can't heal them, technologies will help them in the future. Long before having children, I had realized that everyone on this earth had his own challenges. You, kind sir, have a challenge of your own and it has it's difficulties. I feel that you have more routine checks to do given your medical condition. I don't know for sure but I'm guessing haha. Anyway, I hope that they find a cure to heal you or at the very least, a treatment that can slow down or even stop the process that creates those tumors. Thank you for asking and I wish you well!

Great addition if you can afford it. My dad was paralyzed after a car accident. It was difficult for him to mentally accept, it breaks my heart seeing someone so young in a wheelchair. Your a good man and she has so much trust in you. I’m sure it hasn’t been easy. Beautiful relationship and a beautiful couple. I respect what I see.

The glass on the lift door is made from tempered glass, as you can see the level 6 pick starts to scratch, with deeper grooves at level 7.

It's not even glass. It's acrylic. Easily scratched and generates an abundance of static electrical charge. I'm guessing the manufacturer used it because it's not as heavy as glass, and it doesn't have the same safety hazards of glass breakage to engineer mitigations for. It's probably less expensive, too, I'd bet.

I have this elevator, based on a severe back injury. Life changing. It was the only thing that allowed us to get a 2 story house. This does DRASTICALLY simplify the actual installation. We had contractors and the elevator company here for 5 weeks doing the install.

I know I'm late to this comment as I was searching for these elevators. I have a stairlift right now and everything was fine until one day it stopped halfway up the stairs. It scared the daylights out of me and I had to get off and walk up the stairs. I would be nervous if the elevator suddenly stopped working. Has that happened to you? How much did the entire job cost?

Fantastic. I came to this page from Rivian 1500 mile review. My teen daughter is in wheelchair. We were able to modify our 1960s home sufficiently without an elevator but love seeing this compact solution. Now I need to find the off road wheelchair videos!!

i live in italy and most buildings are half monuments,have facades of marble etc, and are a real serious problem for people with disabilities,we really try to knock down what we call architectonic barriers,we spend a lot of time and money just to get permits for ramps where the ramp should be there without questions people on 6th floor no elevators are stuck especially when they reach their 70's

What I love about this, is your adaptation. The circumstances of your own life have driven you to explore all sorts of engineering you would likely never have even considered, and I bet along the way learnt a whole load of 'stuff' you had no reason to even consider until you found a want/need to adapt. That is very cool. Old folk, like myself, can have trouble with stairs too. I've been thinking about an elevator as a solution for a while. It's really nice to see how you did it.

Elevators are good. We installed one of those stair lifts for my grand parents. It went on the left side and luckily their stairs are on an exterior wall so there is nothing for the chair to block when its up or down stairs. A d it has a call.button so like if grandpa was already upstair and grandma wasn't then she could push a button and it would come to her. Just like an elevator.

I bought my wife a one story house and she CAN climb stairs. That seems like a much simpler way to show love for your spouse and get the respect of strangers, rather than doing whatever this guy does.
