Mingo Falls - from the National Park Service:
Rising to over 120 feet, Mingo Falls is located in the home of the Cherokee Indians in Cherokee, North Carolina. It is one of the tallest and most spectacular waterfalls in the southern Appalachians.
As hiking trails go, Mingo Falls Trail is a short walk but the climb to the falls is steep-it includes 161 steps with a rise of 180 feet! Despite the stairs, the hike to Mingo Falls is moderately easy. Please be aware though, that elders, families carrying small children (or dogs) or people with physical challenges may find the climb more difficult.
