@Jo mogyeong I have been liking to eat beef with that way for a long time. Slice method of onion looks familiar. Japanese red wine you chosen really attracts me. It could be used in cooking of meat, relax to drink pouring in pretty transparent glass, moreover think it is convenient to preserve as left-over bottle that is able to enjoy like every other day after my family 7Y fell asleep. Hope conclude this week good for later. /o sa kki ni si tsu re si mass/[i should go in advance?(i am also finding fun to learn Japanese. just i study although i never visit] 😄🤭☻️🙂

I LOVE Gyudon! I've learned a couple methods and the shaved onion will be a new technique I've not learned yet and excited to try. That type of meat in the USA is called "shaved steak" (and they sell pork in similar ways), the usual thing with it done here is used to make very big sandwiches with it, most famously "Philly Cheese Steak."

Thank you very much for watching and your comment! It would be great if you could try some of these technique :) Thanks for telling about the meat. I didn't know these are called shaved steak and there is also pork version of it. And, "Philly Cheese Steak" looks soooo good! I wanna make that in the future!

This beef bowl looks delicious. The beef you are using can be purchased in different ways in America. My grocery store sells it in small packages, family size packages, from the meat counter and directly from butchers. There was a meat sale last weekend where vendors were selling in parking lots. There were some really great deals on beef.

I did get quite a bit of beef. Mostly rib eye steaks though. Will be good for dishes like this and for grilling for the rest of summer.

I just LOOOOOVE gyudon! It's one of my favorite japanese dishes and I often order it at japanese restaurants. I'll try the grated onion trick in the future. Here where I live people sometimes use a bit of pineapple juice (freshly squeezed) to soften beef also because of the enzymes. And it doesn't taste like pineapple after it's cooked. And here I can't find thinly sliced meat, so i learned that i can put a meat block in the freezer for an hour before thinly slicing it with a very sharp knife, the meat gets more rigid and easier to cut.

Great clip and tips! My favourite beef bowl chain in Japan is Matsuya, but I also make this at home. No finely sliced beef here in Romania, but as someone pointed out below it is good to partially freeze a block of meat and then cut it really thin, preferably with a good Japanese knife. Although I lived in Japan I have never tasted Japanese red wine, a little of port or sherry wine is good though. Red ginger pickle is mandatory and so is a lot of juice and a raw egg on top. Arigato! Keep the clips coming :-)

Thank you very much as always!! Matsuya is my favorite chain restaurant for gyudon too! I always go there if we wanna buy gyudon. I'm sure you make so delicious gyudon at home even without my recipe 😁 But, maybe you could try it with red wine next time 👍

I have never seen this syrup in my country (austria). Our sugar is usually made from sugar beets thou, I guess it's not the same thing. They are related to red beets but not to Daikon.

Oh! Thanks for telling about the sugar. Maybe syrup made from daikon is unique to Japan!

@@JapaneseCookingChannel Yeah, I wasn't bothered with making rice, so decided to just use instant noodles without the flavouring/soup and just mixed it in with the beef and sauce, I recommend using a pull chopper to mince/grate the onions, much less troublesome
