What are three Germans doing who have a common interest? They found an Verein. One is the chairman, one is the secretary and the third is the treasurer. And if it's just about meeting every Saturday and testing the taste of beer. This can be a serious sport. ;-)

A way to approach the "Verein" thing is the word itself: the verb _vereinen_ means _to unite_ or _to join_ . In a _Verein_ people _unite_ to pursue a common interest. Great video, I like your channel.

My Brother in Law used NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle - New German Wave-- very roughly translated) Songs in the late 80s to teach his french Students the German language. Very simple Texts (mostly), relatively easy to translate but some had a very serious background, like Environmental pollution or fear of a nuclear war etc.

Very good tips 👍 The good thing about that huge club culture in Germany is that you can find friends so much easier, you can organise a party together to play some German Schlager songs. Birthday, carnival, Easter, Christmas, Halloween. Beside of the fantastic Die Sendung mit der Maus 🐁 you can watch Löwenzahn in ZDF, Das Sandmännchen from RBB (Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg) the broadcast channel from Berlin, and what i highly recommend is of course the local broadcast channels like RBB, MDR, WDR, NDR or BR. This channels have a lot of documentations about the local food, about traveling, some tips and tricks for the weekend, about history, local festivals, regionale market's, cities or districts. The RBB for example does that every Saturday. It's really funny, interesting and not so hard to understand. The broadcast Mediathek of every channel offers the shows on the internet or at the KZfaq channels. Helene Fischer is one of the most successful singer's in world, she is eight on the list of the world's top earning musicians loud Forbes magazine. More than Celine Dion or Britney Spears

12:53 - O please. The Die Toten Hosen *are* Schlager. At least nowadays. And may I add that there is not only the Mauslied by Mark Forster. Twenty yers ago Stefan Raab did one for the 30th birthday. Love you, guys. Your videos are great in so many ways.

As alternative to Schlager I would recommend to listen to German Hip-Hop bands, such as Beginner, Massive Töne, 5 Sterne deluxe. However, the most important thing is to enjoy the medium when learning another language, be it books, movies, music, or a comic.

I love listening to schlager. Reminds me of trips to Germany and going to all of the fests and other parties in the summer. I listen to some German radio stations that play schlager. In regards to the TV shows, I found a show that wasn't a cartoon but was educational for kids. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name and haven't been able to find the series again. I remember one episode was about bees and bee hives and someone had stolen bees from someone else's property. Any ideas what that could be?

Very funny (as always)! And if I hadn't already hit it before, I would have hit the subscribe button ;-)! If I may, there might be another way. It sure went very well for me in order to practise my english. Watch your favorite TV Series in german. Yes, of course, the original voices are always the best, but the german dubbing industry is really good and if you choose the german audio along with german subtitles (don't mix german audio with english subtitles!!!), this is indeed a good thing to practise. I've been doing this for years with french and english films and I really learnt a lot! And by "a lot", I mean that I studied french and I'm a french teacher but nonetheless, I got much of my "daily french" by watching movies!

I hope we can make a distinction between German pop music and Schlager. Here are two great sources for German pop music. All the benefits mentioned in the video apply perfectly to German pop music. BBRadio-Nur Deutsche Hits Deutsche Hits by rm.FM (Köln) I must confess to a little Kaisermania, but otherwise it’s SEEED/Peter Fox, Adel Tawil, Fanta 4, Sarah Connor, Silbermond, Stereoact, Glasperlenspiel, Pohlmann, KAYEF, Der Graf, Lotte, Tim Bendzko, Herbert Grönemyer, Clueso, Cro, Annenmaykantereit, MOA, Gestört Aber Geil, Christina Stürmer, Wincent Weiß, Revolverheld, Rosenstolz, Joris, Juli, Johannes Oerding, Emilio, Benne, Namika, Philipp Dittberner, Xavi, Rammstein, Nena, Peter Maffay, Toten Hosen, Jan Delay, Cassandra Steen, Culcha Candela, Echt, Westernhagen, 2Raumwohnung, Sportfreunde Stiller, Andreas Bourani, Chima, Max Giesinger, C Arma, Sido, Diane Weigmann, Mathea, Bosse, Falco, Die Ärzte, Luca Kuglmeier, Amanda, Jennifer Rostock, Laing, Freundeskreis, Fettes Brot, usw

Ach, was seid ihr doch süß!
