Thanks so much, this was difficult to wrap my head around (pun intended) but you made it so much easier.

A problem I see frequently is that with method 2, the little corner of the tenugui may stick out in the back and flap around (which I've been told is improper). Now, what I do, is I use method 2 but instead of just folding it upwards in the end, I tuck it under the bottom. The downside of that is, that it can sometimes result in some pressure points at the forehead, but if I'm careful to make it as flat as possible, it works.

I’m unfamiliar with all three methods. My Sensei, both in Canada and the US do not use these methods. However, I have learned something new I can add to godokeiko. Arigato Gosimashita. Forgive the spelling.

thank you for posting this. the first method works best for me because my head is big and it seams to be the most adjustable.
@sid25s2 жыл бұрын
yes its also smart to already prepare it before keiko & as soon as 'menstuke!' you can quickly pop it and be the 1st in line !👍

I seem to have a big head as well since I couldn't even fit the 3rd method. My ends don't even reach to the front like in the video. Have you experienced this?
@sid25s Жыл бұрын
@@toooooobi look for a 100cms length tenugui instead of a standard 90cms one. Another solution is not to knot it just fold or tuck it in. tighten the men over it then it should remain in place.

How wide is the cloth the one side is half a meter, the other? Seems very interesting (y)
@sid25s Жыл бұрын
Standard length is 1 meter & width is around 35cms. However most common is 90cms length & 35cms is widely popular since its really enough.

What's the correct size?
@sid25s Жыл бұрын
there is only one standard size for kendo tenugui (100x35). However for kids it maybe too big, so for kids i recommend you buy those general use tenugui that are sold in 100 yen shops. they are usually shorter by 10cms.
