Today I discuss 3 different treatments for cyanobacteria, also known as blue green algae.
These methods are the most common ways to resolve this issue, outside of countries which have easy access to erythromycin.

Cyanobacteria, my arch nemesis, I did the old redo the tank completely method and swapping to a less powerful light. Good tips blake :)

She is quite the tough mistress.. luckily i havent seen it again since i dosed the 2 tanks with the chemiclean

I've bought a product on Amazon called blue exit from easy life . I hope it will work . Right now it's the third day of blackout in the tank . I hope this product will be as effective as chemi clean

I have gotten rid of it by manually removing as much as I could and increasing the flow around the aquarium

do i need to turn off co2 when dosing erythromycin?

Erythromycin isnt legal here in australia so I cant speak from experience, but I probably would just to ensure the fish have plenty of oxygen

I dont think itll make a huge difference in 7 days, thats how long i take to replace mine when they run out anyways at best lol

But won’t cleaning my filter and everything else kill my good bacteria? How is all this going to affect my fish?

clean it in aquarium water, it wont kill your bacteria.
