I usually rub it straight into my scalp and try to tolerate the itching. I had no idea that the yellow stuff was latex which I'm allergic to. It all makes sense now. Thanks so much for sharing this information.

Wow, me too. I knew you had to soak it to remove the yellow substance but had no idea that that substance was latex. Sometimes I skip the soaking ending up with a reaction, and well just like you said 'it all makes sense now'.

My hair is protein sensitive can I use the aloe Vera method if I remove the latex? The lady that I was following didn't mention this....my hair is so dry and I have thinning areas in my hair that are bad....I used the aloe Vera juice last week and it made my hair feel so good and soft but I'm afraid of,the,protein in it! For the cold pressed aloe infused oil...if I don't have the citric acid and so I don't use it, will that cause my oil to go rancid during the 2 week fermentation time? I have always done as you mentioned, heating my oil in a double boiler so now I'm interested in trying this fermenting approach but I don't have citric acid. New subscriber!

Thank you for sharing. I've seen some other KZfaqrs heat the aloe vera gel in a pot with certain oils and followed suit. I won't be doing that, again. Recently, I blended and strained an aloe vera gel/plant, put it in a spray bottle, and stored it in the fridge.

Thanks for sharing all three methods. I have low porosity hair and it loves aloe . I made the aloe cubes for smoothies ' I also made the cold press oil. I used avocado oil for my carrier oil however I didn't use the citric acid. I will place it a window for four weeks ' strain it and use it on my hair and body. Creating all natural remedies makes my soul happy.

You could add a few drops of: tea tree oil or rosemary essential oil or lavender essential oil. They are all natural antiseptics

I have tried drying aloe vera and then making my oil just like you do. Then you don't need any preservative cos there's no water content. I'm in South Africa so in summer I thinly slice the aloe and sundry (usually 2-4 days) and then blend to a powder. It doesn't have to be very fine. I add to my oil and leave to infuse for a few weeks. I work on 1 tbs per cup of oil. Sometimes I add dried hibiscus as well

Yes I been using Aloe Vera for several years but for my skin. For some reason my hair doesn't like it but my skin loves it. I can't wash my face with anything else. Eventually I will get eczema so I just make my own face wash with the aloe vera leaf!! By the way your hair is beautiful🥰
