Shower brushing helps to lay hair down. And a waver should only shower brush if they know their angles. The top and back are the easiest to brush. The sides behind and front of ears are only easy to if a waver knows how to position the brush without a mirror. Like when I had a 360 beehive pattern I position the brush at a diagonal direction when I brush my sides.

I shower brushed when I had my 360 beehive pattern before. When I washed my hair I would scramble wash to clean the dirt out of my hair. Then Wash n Style to bring my waves back into place. Then Shower Brush with shampoo to really lay waves down to my scalp. Then apply more shampoo, and the rag up in the shower, and then rinse out the shampoo from my durag. And let my hair air dry.

Avoid blind brushing at all costs but but with regards to methods products etc just find whatever works for you

Water fr has been my mistake all these years. I use to think you need a spray bottle.

Wavers are also Shower Brushing , because brush king now sell curved brushes that are for Shower, Regular, and Wash & Style brushing. Better yet, brushes that are for Shower, Regular, and Wash & Style don't actually soft(like a normal wave brush could).

Now I'm retraining my hair to form a 360 swirl pattern. And I'm still in the ripple stage. So I'm when I wash my wash I only do the 360 jeezy wash n style. Which doesn't involve scramble washing, it only involves involves apply shampoo and brushing hair to train hair. However, I would go back to shower brushing after an elite 360 swirl pattern.
