What's sad is alot of people here in my city dont even have hitches on their truck of course no tool box and you'll see these nancy boys wearing a suit driving it.... it's pretty sad who the majority of new truck owners are, that's also why they started putting speakers in a bed and a sun roof on a truck, so many useless things that Jack the price up. They haven't made a normal truck since 2010. And also they started manufacturing 4ft beds more than they used too for that reason, hardly anyone getting a truck now actually uses it for work, the next 1 I have to buy I cant even get a manual and I'm paying for a bunch of wuss features a truck should never have. Thanks to all you sissies that think they're cool cause they drive a truck.

@@Olds_Pwr the United States didnt become the superpower it is today from laziness.
@BradChadley
@BradChadley 4 жыл бұрын
@Mike Sienicki Boomers, the spoiled generation following WWII, paved the way to our nation becoming lazier and fixated on money and entertainment. That generation started a trend of entitlement that has followed each subsequent generation. It's not entirely their fault, their parents didnt want them to endure hardships like the Great Depression and WWII, so they didn't experience the hardships that make people strong. But to simply call millennials lazy and blame them for everything is foolish. Sure, some are mush brained meatbags, but that's a minority of the generation. The Boomers were called that by their parents and grandparents, as men grew their hair to long lengths, women dressed started to dress how they wanted and express sexuality, kids were experimenting with all sorts of drugs, and were starting to discount the idea of God. It's just blatantly ignorant to blame the downfall of America on a single generation when older generations still typically hold the power and wealth, that historically, every generation has had its problems, but the notions of hard work have been passed down through many families. Youre projecting blame onto groups of people that are only part of the problem. You yourself are mush brained if you truly believe that immigrants (I have several immigrant friends and they work harder and are more honest than most of my American ones) and millennials have ruined this country. Foolish

My 2019 Kenworth T680 has a lifetime MPG (for 143,000 miles) of 8.05. I usually get about 200 mpg for DEF. With ONLY 30,000 lbs behind me I get over 9 MPG. My truck has a 15 liter Cummins X15 (400 HP/1750 LB FT TORQUE) with a 12 speed automated manual transmission. I know, apples to water melons.

Well, considering the cubic inch difference in the X15 15 L vs. a 6.7 L, your X15 gets better mileage per liter of displacement in a big way. They are putting those Cummins 6.7 in motor homes these days, I wonder how they are doing on grades, going up and going down.

@@rh-et2vv Indeed! That is why I'm also considering a 450 as a base for a truck camper. My struggle is that the F450 is not available in a Supercab. I don't want a crew and not sure a regular cab would work. A F450 regular cab is what I might end up with just because it would be so maneuverable.

In 2010 an F-350 4x4 Supercrew Dually XLT PSD was around $50,000 before options. Adjusted for inflation, that's around $58,000-$59,000 today. Well, a comparable new XLT 4x4 Supercrew Dually, according to Ford, is $59,275 before options. That's right around the same price for basically 2x the capability. Honestly, given the modern version at a at marginally higher price, I'd still take the new one! The old 6.4L PSD was junk. Like the video. When your hauling heavy like that and it's bucking move the weight a little more over the axles of the truck it will help with the bucking. As long as it's not too far forward. Also the way you had the load chained down is illegal. You can use one chain but it can't be pulling against itself. It has to have enough slack between mounting points and not pulling against itself to be considered "two separate chains". Other than that its was a good video. Yep, we get better mileage from out 01 than our 14 duramax and we don't have to deal with DEF and post bailout GM problems quarterly. The only downside is the 6 speed is nice for highway and the exhaust brakes on the new trucks are a game changer.

To me it looked like the excavator was a little too far forward. I have been using gooseneck trailers now for a little over 20 years. They really don't seem to like a lot of tongue weight. But if these guys actually scaled the load it could be that was the correct placement. In my opinion this is why I wouldn't buy this particular set up. A full size truck would ride much better than that.

Awesome review guys! I would love to see a real towing cost of use between 7.3 gas vs 6.7 diesel in the same F series model. Set up trailer for maximum towing weight in the 7.3 and use that same towing weight in the 6.7. Compare the mpg between the two along with cost of fuels, def, and if possible the cost of oil changes to compare the real world towing cost. With that info if you want to calculate the additional cost of the diesel engine vs gas and how many miles it would take to break even that would be cool too. Thanks TFL!

Yeah the problem is it took Ford literally a decade-and-a-half to beat GM. It's probably going to take GM all of 2 years to catch up to Ford and smoke them again...and we're not even talking about reliability here. ford likely still wont compare there, but time will tell.

Oh please GM been crap since the recession. People think its 1979 over here. People act like you can drive a GM 400000 without no engine lights or sensors going. That's BS. People act Fords crankshaft splits in half and the piston blows out of the hood. GM made some shitty ass motors and designs too. Dont act like every vehicle that comes off the assembly is near perfect. 5.4s Triton 2 valve is a tough ass motor. 3.6L V6 by GM is crap especially their timing belt snapping by 25000 miles. Their Atlas motors were a nightmare especially the 5 cylinder with the same issue. Have the drop the front end to get to the belt. GMs duramax is the same freaking motor since 2001. Plus it's not even GM. Its freaking Isuzu in a GM Shell with the fake 10speed allison. Japanese diesel. The 6.7 is the only in house built diesel and last time I checked that thing is bulletproof with the 6R140 transmission that is a close second to the Allison

@@johnathanleonardo912 The 3.6 has a chain genius. The ones that had problems were in 4,700 pound SUVs and generally weren't having oil changed at even intervals. And even then they were making it to 75k to 100k miles before they had an issue with the chain. The Ford 5.4 on the other hand it's just a giant pile of dogshit that should have never been in anything ever. Far more 3.6 units still being driven home than the 5.4 piles of dogshit and they made probably the same amount of them in the mid-2000s. Thanks for bringing up another sore subject though. You're right, Ford couldn't make gas V8 back then either. It wasn't just their 6.0 diesels that were garbage. Meanwhile the 6.0 GM v8 was several years into becoming a work truck mainstay...even back then already.

@@johnathanleonardo912just so you know, General Motors owns a large portion of Isuzu. That's why Isuzu uses gasoline GM V8s in a lot of their box trucks. Unfortunately Ford did not have the same luck as they did not own any portion of international while International was building their 7.3 s back in the day. No engineering from Ford whatsoever went into that motor, which is probably why it was largely successful. The Duramax 6.6 has had plenty of GM hands on it.
