I'm a baby boomer and haven't heard of most of these dishes. They are bizarre.

Raised in the South. Grits are A way of life. Cheap, filling and goes with anything practically. Eggs to fried fish to shrimp you get the idea.

I love farina aka cream of wheat. My grandmother would add some butter and serve it on plate with cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top.

Legit LOLed at "summer sausage snack platters - the underwhelming gift from your boss that you never asked for". So. Effin'. True! I am amazed that Hickory Farms is still in business. And TBH the summer sausage was the best part; really could've done without the stale crackers and eerily shelf-stable cheese-like substance that invariably accompanied the "mystery meat" log!

Cream of Wheat is delicious. But I generally prefer Ralston because it's basically whole grain Cream of Wheat.

Aww, c'mon... instant mac 'n' cheese with pan-fried diced SPAM is an amazing comfort food! I agree on the canned pasta though. Yuck!

Ummm it's SCOTTS eggs and are a dish from Scotland. My Scottish ancestry has recipes where scotch was used to pickle boiled eggs to lengthen their duration. Then wrapping the pickled eggs into lamb and crackers crumbs then baked on an open peat pit to be carried by soldiers or those going to sea... they are delicious when made correctly... but then again I also love haggis... yummm

I'd never heard them called anything but scotch eggs, so I Googled it. I think someone was teasing you when they told you it was Scotts eggs. Go ahead and look it up. Sorry though.

Thank you much for the info. I did Google and very fascinating. I've had a family recipe passed down from 4 generations for the Scott's eggs I mentioned, since I'm not a huge fan outside of preparing them for family holidays and special occasions. My family recipe is simply dreadful to prepare, it smells disgusting . To be honest, I hadn't thought of these unique eggs for years, until seeing the video. Sincerest thanks for the input and blessing a from Aransas pass TEexas . .

Liking grits has absolutely nothing to do with not having teeth. I grew up eating grits with breakfast and still eat it until this day. I have all of my teeth. It's just a good combination with breakfast. You don't know what you're missing. Sucks for you.

Your version of Cream of wheat is yucky! 🤮 We make it with water and evaporated milk, adding butter, brown sugar and maple syrup. The consistency is like creamed soup, stirring constantly with a fork so it doesn't get lumpy. It is so good with toast on the side.

Putting down grits and creamed corn will make southerners very unhappy with you. I like grits and Cream of Wheat. My Gen X kids loved spaghetti Os. It makes me cringe. And Kraft Mac and Cheese is still a favorite with kids. Putting down scotch eggs is insulting Scotland. Scotch eggs have been a staple there for hundreds of years. Just because you don't like them doesn't make them wrong. Never heard of all these jello and jelly dishes. Same for sticking bananas in everything.

I have an issue with some things you listed, namely the instant mac & cheese, canned pasta like spaghetti-Os, tacos and american-italian food. Firstly, they aren't relevant to your video's title and many of the youngest generations enjoy those foods, they aren't strickly boomer foods. Granted some aren't great in terms of being good for you, I'll give you that but that's not foods only boomers will remember. And there's more wrong about the 'italian' & 'mexican' food. I think most people are aware it's not authentic food, just as chinese and other foods from other cultures are not authentic - they're Americanized. Americans didn't go overseas and bring those foods over and 'americanize' them. Today it's more about making foreign-seeming food appealing to more people in America but back then they were 'Americanized' by immigrants who brought those recipes and also made those changes based on what they did and did not have access to here compared to the country they came from. And each country and culture developed recipes based on what they had access to relative to the times and the region. That's common throughout human history when exchanging/sharing cultures as well as when migrating to foreign places. It was dumb to have those few things on this list but everything else fits in under the video title I think but who knows some younger people may remember them or have enjoyed them.
