30 Days of Night is a three-issue horror comic book miniseries written by Steve Niles, illustrated by Ben Templesmith, and published by American company IDW Publishing in 2002.
The series takes place in Barrow, Alaska, so far north that during the winter, the sun does not rise for 30 days. In the series, vampires, being vulnerable to sunlight, take advantage of the prolonged darkness to openly kill the townspeople and feed at will.
The upcoming text and artwork have been edited to prevent copyright problems. All the art is owned by its respective companies. Support the industry by clicking the link below and purchasing the graphic novel in its entirety to get the full story.

Saw the movie and liked it. It was kind of like a cross between a vampire and zombie movie to me. Instead of the typical lone vampire, there was a pack and the survivors were sneaking around, trying to avoid detection like one would do in a zombie movie

When I looked at the letters I noticed two cool things. MARLOW is very similar to Kurt BARLOW, Barlow is the master vampire in Stephen King's second novel, Salem's Lot, a fantastic book to read before bed at night. The date and time on all the emails are from the early morning hours, right in the middle of the night and when most humans would be sleeping.

Watched a few videos, really great content on your channel. As a fan of all things sci-fi / horror / comics, I'm so happy to see them well represented. The film adapatiation of 30 days of night has done the comic much justice. The casting was great, the effects and gore were spot on. How about that one overhead camera scene when it pans through the main Street of barrow as the vampires were going nuts?! Such an underrated film and comic. Thanks again for showcasing one of my faves.

I'm pretty sure this movie (and, before that, the comics) got the idea from an old horror story called Dawn of Vampires featured in a comics magazine of the 70's (Kripta). I have the issue. It's a black & white amazingly designed vampire story set on an petrol exploration in the Artic. The workers come across a casket that had been buried in the snow for ages... and from there the plot follows.

Great review! I've had a few conversations with others about this movie and most have been negative from ppl that hated it, while I felt the total opposite. Well casted, visually beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Love this style of movie. All cast played their roles to perfection. Foster as usual creepy to the letter. Josh H believable etc. A special iteration of the vamp genre flic!!! I'll also add that the second film isn't even in the same league as the original.

I'm glad you also think so highly of it. And I agree about the casting, everyone went with it and had fun, especially foster. He's one of my favorite actors, his eccentric character choices add a breath of fresh air to the films he is in. And what about Danny Huston as the lead vampire, Vincent? AMAZING!!

Love this series and the lore. I personally find the 5 novels(6 if you count the first movie novelization) the most enjoyable. The lore is expanded GREATLY throughout the five books. While they do have connecting events and plot points they are stand alone but I rec reading in order as the twists hit muuuuch harder this way.

I've seen the movie and loved it, if if has one fault however I'd have to say for me it's the vampire language they developed for the film. I get that it was effective in making the vampires seem more inhuman, but in the comic I liked the fact that they spoke English. For example the scene where Eben went to get medical supplies from the Sheriff's Office and one of the vampires found him there and rather than attacking on sight as they would've done in the 2007 adaptation he greets Eben with the words _"Doing a little shopping sheriff"_ and from there the two spark up a conversation, if you can call it that, where the vampire tries to extract from the terrified Eben where the location of the other survivors are, an exchange that the Sheriff of Barrow barely escapes from. A truly awesome scene, just wish it'd been in the movie somehow.

This'll sound silly but my main problem with these vampires was that they just didn't wipe their faces after feeding. These Nosferatu weren't animals nor children nor actually ignorant savages, I just couldn't gel with them just walking around covered in blood. Now I'm not the most 'tidiest' eater myself and have made a mess more than once but I have always managed to wipe my face. When these vampires walk about covered in blood it seems somewhat undignified to me.

Last of us, please explain how the outbreak happened
@nocommentgaming5399
@nocommentgaming5399 6 жыл бұрын
In the last of us there is a mutated version of a real word fungus called cordyceps. in real life the fungus is limited to insects and spiders, but in TLOU it has the abillity to infect humans as well. The fungus takes over the hosts body and mind, and it's goal is to infect other uninfected beings, and since it is carried by both spores and bodily fluids it spreads like wildfire in big cities, and eventually to the the rest of the world. - i might not be 100% correct, but this is a rough explaination about how it happened
@lnlyby_yt
@lnlyby_yt 6 жыл бұрын
NoComment Gaming That's not really an explanation of how it happened, you're just stating the events that occurred once people got infected. It would be interesting to learn how the cordyceps made the transition from arthropodal hosts to humans, and why no other primates fell victim to the fungus. It would also be interesting to delve into the fungus's alternation of life stages, and how the sporophytic stage differs from the gametophytic stage, or if there even is one. Following patient zero would be cool, although now that I think about it, it would be more likely that a group of people became infected simultaneously. Maybe a mini series following the first town that got infected, and the events that transpired within. I'd love to hear about that. Edit: there are actually derived species of the fungus that infect a plethora of other insects.

That's all fine and dandy, but to my knowledge there is no official information of how the outbreak happened. Everything that has been covered so far on this channel had information to fall back on, to make it as accurate as possible. As soon as you need to think stuff up for yourself you'd be better off writing you own story with it's own universe. - IF i am totally wrong and there IS a source with info about everything, please share it! i do wish to delve into it myself more if there is something to "chew" on.
