Thanks for the video. Additional phrases could also be used to avoid using colloquial phrases in formal letters and essays. Suggestions are made in brackets (___) • In a nutshell (it can thus be concluded that/the apparent/obvious conclusion is/one might conclude that) • The findings were kind of significant (the findings were significant to a certain degree/in some respects/to some extent) • Lots of/many (a significant number of/a tremendous number of) • Kids (the younger generation/youths/young people) • To get out of hand (when a situation becomes highly uncontrollable) • Once in a blue moon (on rare occasions/only under certain circumstances) Yours respectfully, Neil

Hi Asiya. Thank you for the examples you have given in your video, I know a lot of synonyms for more advanced language use, but I am afraid I might use the spelling wrong. Would you recommend me to use more intermediate words of which I am sure I will use the spelling right, or should I try my best and use the advanced words I know?

@eshankotian5303
@eshankotian5303 3 жыл бұрын
@@alfarhana851 Hey! For speaking, the questions can be quite absurd. It's totally based on very normal things that happen in day-to-day life. Don't panic. Just take some deep breaths before the test and speak calmly with a moderate speed. For part 1 and part 3, try to keep your answers precise with good examples but for part 2, go on for good 2 minutes with plenty of strong points and examples. For writing, I just prepared on the day of my exam. Do check out the videos uploaded by Fastrack and IELTS Liz. You'll get an idea. Also, 20 minutes for part 1 and 40 minutes for part 2. Keep this in mind! You'll do great. All the best and let me know how it went :)
