Marin should 100% take your retro / rebuild as a model and re-release that bike as a limited edition. It is that amazing! With that, Please find a proper XTR Rear Mech and bring that beauty full circle. Love your work!!!

Awesome restoration as usual! I was a little disappointed to see you left off the bar ends, those were indicative of bikes of that era. When they're set up properly, meaning not so high up in the air, they actually work very well. I've been riding since 93 and still haven't given up my bar ends. They provide alternative hand positions and definitely aid when you're climbing out of the saddle or going up a super steep grade. I even remember a brief period when they came stock and you could see them on bikes in the shops.

Over the years at me being almost 30, I’ve had quite a few older bikes such as a khs crest from 99. A 92 diamondback topanga. A 99 specialized hard rock. And now I’ve been riding a 98 or so Gary fisher Big Sur in 2023 and ended up putting newer parts on it and made it a one by 8 instead of a 3 by 8

I spent nearly 10 years buying retro mtb's from our recycling centre. I dont see them in the centre now, guess they are loved or lost. I had a good sized collection at one time but you cant ride them all and at 50 Y/O i have only 5 now. Plenty of retro bikes around in the UK and the Malverns bike fest has a great show & Shine. Seems like you still have plenty of old stock to work with there and make some great resto and restomod bikes. Much appreciated 🤙

Lovely restoration! The job that you did with the Judy, is simply amazing. You are blessed with parts, and kits to keep alive MTB old school stuff, here in Argentina is very hard to find spare parts of forks with only 10 years, it's simply impossible to do the same that you did with a near 30 y/o fork. As always, great video! Big hug!

Beautiful restoration. The rebuild of the fork was really cool. I've been watching your videos for about 18 months, and it inspired me to restore my 88 Miata Path Runner. Unfortunately the frame was way too big for me, so I found a Reflex F1 frame to "Swap" in. Lol...this turned into a crazy project where only a couple of components from the Miata could be used on the Reflex frame. After 5 months I finally got it assembled, running, and shifting pretty well. I hadn't ridden trails in about 25 years, but have really, really enjoyed riding my "New" restored Mountain Bike. This winter I'm hoping to break it down and repaint it using some of the techniques you've shown. Thank you for your content, inspiration. It makes me feel great riding my restored Mountain Bike on the trails.

Great work and some great product demonstrations for folks like myself wanting to keep my 95 Judys alive. Those stanchions still look like new and it looks like you've done a cartridge oil change once or twice before : ) Rock Shox changed mine under the original recall mid/late 90s. Unfortunately I have one of the Ti allen screws at the brake brace rounded and now can't get it out ! I have a 94 Kona Explosif with the same tube set - I didn't know Marin used the Tange Ultrastrong with the ribbed down tube until now. Really nice to see that, its fairly rare. In 1994 the Marin Team Marin was ultra light - lighter than the Explosif. Did you manage to find anywhere supplying replacement Tange stickers? Finally, love that BB you used. Great job - I am sure that steel frame will go another 30 yrs easy. 👍

I got into mountain biking in 1992 living on a golf course in a house with a bunch of people working at the resort. After the golfers were done for the day I would ride all over the trails in privacy. My first MTB was from a discount store and they didn't even tighten the bolts all the way on the stem. The front tire turned and I flipped over and shredded my arms with pebbles from the golf course and broke the brake lever off on one side. I ended up in the nurses office getting pebbles taken out of my arm. I brought the bike back to the store and demanded my money back..they gave me an extra $100 for my troubles which I didn't.expect. I went to a proper bike shop and got my first real MTB a Diamond Back Traverse....thirty years later....
