My car did not pass inspection because of an exhaust leak in the engine bay. The mechanics suspected it might have something to do with the turbo, but I didn't have the money to have it replaced and I prefer to work on my car myself. So, I ordered a new turbo and gaskets. Since it has already driven 300,000km, I figured it was time to replace the turbo anyway. As it turned out, the turbo was actually in very good condition, but the manifold was cracked. I will keep the turbo as a spare
What I bought/needed, from what I remember.
Blocks for raising car, to work under car more safely.

Turbo (nissens turbo z19dt)
8 stud bolts, 8 studs.
Copper paste for studs. amzn.to/3BlAzkQ
Manifold gasket.
Gasket set for turbo.
Gaskets for egr pipe.
Turbo exhaust clip for turbo.
Bolts for egr pipe.
Different clamps for intercooler pipes and cooling pipes.
Maybe also recommended:
Engine oil
Oil filter
New oil feed line.

Did you disconnect the Ac lines? If you did what did you have to do to Make it work again

No I did not, just loosened the radiator and condenser from the mounts to get more room, so the lines for the ac was still connected. So my ac still works.

Is your turbocharger leaking into the intercooler and then air intake because mine does

I don’t remember checking the intercooler, but there have always been oil in the intake, but not to much ans have not been a problem.

@@andreiandrew9181 Yup it's doing exactly that. I wonder why it does it. I know that there are models out there that are prone to this problem

Does this engine have swirl flaps ?

it’s the sohc 8v same as i have in my one and it doesn’t have swirl flaps

@@freddiesowden1782 ...thanks they are not very common out here but thank goodness for KZfaq and the great people out there who are so happy and willing to help others. I found that the turbo was leaking into both sides and number one cylinder has a bent exhaust valve. Once they are fixed I will have to dig it because I suspect that the camshaft sensor is also shot.

As Freddie said, no swirl flap on my 8v engine. Otherwise swirl flap delete is common.
