Ever wondered what it truly takes to make a single cigar? Today, I'm peeling back the layers of this intricate process. Join me as we embark on a deep dive into the cigar-making journey - a craft so detailed, it involves 300 hands from start to finish.
In this tour through the cigar world, we'll trace the path of a cigar from the very soil where its tobacco is grown, through the labor-intensive steps of harvesting, curing, fermenting, and aging. We don't stop there; we follow through to the rolling, resting, and finally, the packaging that delivers these masterpieces to shelves.
This video isn't just for aficionados; it's for anyone curious about the dedication behind each puff. Whether you're a seasoned smoker or new to the cigar community, you’ll gain a new appreciation for why each cigar is a testament to the passion and labor of hundreds. So light up your favorite stick, sit back, and let's unravel the story behind each smoke!

I like how you went out of your way to prove to one persons comment that this is actually true.

Fantastic video, if that were done completely in the USA cigars would cost 200% more and would not be anywhere close to as good as what we get now. Thanks for your time.

I’d like to see a video about the blending process and sampling. How do makers judge or decide which blend is best or completes their vision of what the cigar should look, feel, and taste like?

The part of the process i am the most interested in is the blending process. Id love to hear more about how a blender decides on what to put in a cigar.

When Tim says he has learned a lot about cigars making, he means Steve Saka calling him up telling him how wrong he is in a video.

This is pretty crazy, I just started getting interested in cigars and im pretty blown away at how much information there is for them and how long and tedious this process is. Really puts some of those 20+ dollar stickers into perspective.

Dude, you didn't even talk about the people collecting the tobacco seeds and working on hybrids, then planting the seeds and growing them when moving them multiple times to bigger containers, before planting them on the fields. It is crazy process :) but it is damn worth it! :)

Incase your wondering, fermented leaves give incredible flavor but more carcinogens. I use curing and pasteurization like the Swedish do now. I'm growing one of my favorites, Kentucky 15, this year.

Tim, how does each step of the process affect the flavor of a cigar? Is it the seed, the soil, the fermentation etc? How do they consistently produce flavors like chocolate, dried fruit, graham cracker, pepper etc.
@diezelvh4133
@diezelvh4133 Ай бұрын
The consistency of taste comes from the type of tobacco. Most flavors are enhanced during the curing process, like fire cure, air, or steam pasteurization. And finally, how long is it fermented will make it bold and smooth etc.

I’m curious on how they come up with all these recipes for so many different blends, to make sure no blend tastes the same as the another blend, even though all the tobacco grows the same way, and a lot of times in the same region in the same soil?

Thanks for reposting and upgrading this! I missed it the first time around. When they change the positions of the leaves during ferment, would you call it double or triple fermenting? What flavors do they find are either brought out or gassed off typically from each ferment? I make my own fermented wine, so naturally I'm curious. Thanks!
