At 2:39 you can see that although you crit him, you only destroyed his fuel tank. Sometimes using the shot damage popup in the top right is more useful than just seeing whether you got a crit or hit, as knowing whether you have taken out the barrel, breech or gunner is much more information, and lets you know whether the enemy vehicle can still fight back or not

you can even make the graphic in top right last longer in the settings default should be 5 sec i have it on 8 sec so i can read it better
