The coastal portion of our Northeast Florida loop. Down the St. Johns river and back to Titusville, FL ending only 16 miles from where we began. This final half was a different feel as we cruised down the coastal waters.

I’ve been watching your adventures for years (Dothan native here) and I enjoy virtually traveling with you because I don’t have to eat the old cheese, pay the $200 gas bill, and fix the boat. Creating this much content is quite the undertaking I know! Your camera shots are top tier now.. very cinematic! These adventures are better than a lot of television programs they put out now, and you are doing it all!

I grew up on the St. John’s right there in Deland, couple miles up the bridge and as a kid growing up, my parents always took us to the Glenn. We had a boat, I’m gonna do a little different sailboat motor on it. I’m dying to start off here in Lake Monroe and go up. I can’t wait. That’s awesome video.

That’s my marina where you refueled, and the stretch of water from there to St Aug is my local water sport playground. A few miles south of that marina is Nocatee Landing, it has some sandy areas to pull up a boat, a bathroom and some picnic tables. It’s a convenient place to hang out at. A few miles north of St Augustine on the east of the ICW is Guana River park. It also has some beautiful sandy beaches and picnic tables. And then as you go under the bridge into St Augustine there is a public dock and pier that’s a with an easy walk to some restaurants and a Publix. I think it is a free dock. That’s a great little loop you did, I definitely want to do it sometime.

Hey Tripp, great trip. Lol You went flying right past my marina in Palm Coast. I tend to go to the Matanzas Inlet at Ft Matanzas. It gets busy on the weekends. I'm trying to use the argo app but it isn't good. It's SLOW and not user friendly if you're used to traditional navigation systems. First annoyance to me is no selection between track up and North up map orientation. That's a deal breaker for me. Navionics has an issue that you can select the option but it won't stay in track up. So I don't us that app either. I guess for me it's expensive stand alone units like Garmin. Enjoy
@TripSmith
@TripSmith 2 ай бұрын
Thanks!!!! I had a little trouble with argo using it to actively navigate but for routes, I had no issues. They all seem to have their issues don't they? I guess I'm just trying them and one day someone will get it right. Although Argo is actively working to improve things, maybe they will!

@@TripSmith Hey Trip. Jeff has been trying to help me get comfortable with Argo. He is a great guy. Tenacious would be my description. lol He sends me email help. lol He did show me how to do the track up verses north up feature. But still for me, Argo is trying to do to many things and I'm a simple person that needs easy intuitive features. lol I don't even try to set up routes. Its a good back up to my Garmin but that thing is to smart for me too! I need a simple dumb version. lol Thanks for the recommend. Oh and Ft Matanzas Inlet this weekend was full! Probably 300+ boats and people everywhere.

One thing I like about this one is it's a bit thinner than others so it isn't high profile on my wrist. longislandwatch.com/islander-port-jefferson-skin-diver-automatic-watch-with-sun-faded-orange-dial-isl-178/

He puts a piece of tape over his mouth. It's a country boys CPAP alternative. Lol. Have a good one. 👍

Btw, what's with the tape over your mouth at night?
@TripSmith
@TripSmith 2 ай бұрын
It's to encourage nasal breathing which has many benefits over mouth breathing. Sometimes at night my facial muscles can relax and I may start mouth breathing. I sleep much better now ;)

St. Augustine is unique in that it was originally a Spanish Land grant city so the city owns the river bottom and can force people to pay for anchoring in the city. They make you pay for the use of their morning balls. You can go south of the 312 bridge and anchor for free. You can also tie up to the municipal dock and pay to spend the night. Comanche Cove and The Conch House also has dockage.

Sorry it came across that way baker. I wish I was making money off all the "sponsors". My primary goal is to share what I'm passionate about and inform the viewer. Sometimes I guess it can come across as being salesy. But hey, glad the long commercial was worth watching to you! Thanks for the comment.

We own a C Dory 23 venture. Love watching your adventures. Trip. Have you ever gone up to Montgomery on the Alabama river? And is it possible to do in a C Dory. I know there are quite a few locks. And the river gets low doing the peak of summer.
