Pat, even if you think your story might be boring you will turn it into something, we would love to hear. Stories about your kids, growing up. Stories about your moves from house to house. Reviews of all the oldies but wonderful movies you’ve watched. You’re a natural at this! I was born in 1955. I can’t believe that I’m reminiscing about things that happened 50 and 60 years ago. I love all facets of your stories!🙏❤️🇨🇦

I love your stories, Granny Pat! Please keep telling them! I so wish I’d listened closer to the stories the older folks in my family used to tell! They shared their stories continuously around me! I wasn’t interested in their stories back then. I thought they were boring! HA! I certainly wouldn’t think they were boring now! I’m thankful I have you here sharing stories from times past! I agree with you about NO TV right now. It all depresses me to hear. Our world is just so filled with negativity now. I so hope I’ll be able to see a time like we used to have again! A time where there is more love and kindness among our people. Right now, it seems that so many seem to enjoy the arguing and infighting. I never have and guess I never will. Please tell us some funny stories! We need some laughter right now! ❤️

If your thinking 1970 I was 7yrs old and remember that year as if it was yesterday. I was in Overton, Nevada 60 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada. I would have been in 1st Grade . Since my birthdays in September I went to kindergarten at 6 yrs old . I had a great time in Overton, Nevada. Then in the summer of 1973 we moved to Colorado. I remember those years very well.

Herb, Albert, and the Tijuana brass!🎺🎼 My mother had a beautiful stereo in the dining room with a turntable, The LP’s were Al Hirt, Ray Conniff & Herb Albert I can still remember the Ray Conniff singers Christmas albums. She played them all through the holidays. 😄 My whole family loved music we sang and love to dance. I used to play the flute when I was in the marching band. Thank you for Some great past memories and helping me to remember some special moments at my house with my mom listening to those LPs that she loved. Those people were treasures.💛

@@nancywhipple480 You just listed my album collection. I loved Herb Alpert, and Ray Conniff at Christmas. My stereo had six different size speakers. It sounded like music from Bridge on the River Kwai had entered my living room. It was a great time for good music. (The little guy with the trumpet was about the size of Sammy Davis, Jr.)

Hi Granny Pat!. Another great memory and video. I had not thought of Al Hirt for a very long time. Shame on me. Always in "trumpet paradise" when hearing him play. Also enjoyed the other story about the man you recognized from another time and connected the dots. Special times that we recall are many. A life well lived has kept your memory bank in motion over the decades. You are a treasure. I loved to hear Al play "JAVA". Hello Granny Pat. I enjoyed your story very much. One cannot listen to Al Hirt's "Tijuana Taxi" without cheering up and feeling better about the day. I was born in 1957 in N.W. Ohio. My time machine goes back far enough to remember opening my eyes in the morning and hearing the clip clop sound of the milkman delivering in his horse drawn wagon. He would hop out with a wire basket full of enough milk and sundry dairy products to leave on the porches of two or three houses and his horse would follow him along the curb until he returned. Sometimes, the horse would leave an extra gift by the curbside that my Grandpa called a road apple. lol I am retired and live alone here in my one bedroom Apt. but to me it's a castle and I count my blessings every day. All the best to you, Gary

Good video! That brings back memories...I don't know Al Hirt that well. I saw him on TV a few times, but I saw Doc Severenson every night on The Tonight Show. But the trumpeter that I really liked was Herb Alpert. I know he did some of Al Hirts songs, but he was so good. He was most popular in the 60's-70's, although I didn't realize he is still living. That little guy with the spats wasn't Louis Armstrong, was it? He used to carry around a cloth when he was playing his trumpet. Love that music too! Now I'm going to have to see an old movie with musicians or bands. Those are the best.
