In 40s and 50s when my sister and I wanted crushed ice we put ice in a towel and took it outside and beat it with a hammer and of course lots of it was stuck on the towel but we still got enough crushed ice.

I have two copies of that Homes and Gardens cookbook. Was given one in the mid 70s and found another later version in a thrift store. Good recipes! Ice trays with the lever.

My grandmother used a lot of those kitchen gadgets. Some I still have like the potato masher the can opener. I also remember the stove top iron the egg beater etc. I remember the hair curlers. Thanks 4 showing them up close. Your blouse is pretty. Well I sure did enjoyed this well put together show & tell video. I love the story telling. Well you take care. Hope to tune in again. I love your collection of kitchen gadgets Granny Pat. My favorites are the cookie cutters. I have a collection of the old aluminum cutters. And I have the same biscuit/donut cutter! I have to say that I’m very thankful for my electric steam iron. I can’t imagine having to iron with that heavy thing. 😮

Hi Granny Pat, I'm pretty sure I came across the older Better Homes & Gardens binder at my grandparent's house when sorting books to donate. If I can locate it in boxes would you like me to mail it to you? I love giving books a perfect new home.

Hey, Grandma Pat! My name is Clarence Kenner, I'm 26 years old, I live in New Jersey and I have been looking for an adoptive Grandma since I became an adult. My last surviving grandparent Mary Frances Smallwood Kenner died when I was still a kid. She was old school strictly religious. She was not proud of me like she was of the other 13 grandchildren and the great grandchildren. She died while she was VERY disappointed in me because of my disrespectful behavior and because of how off track I was as I was always doing things my parents told me Not to do instead of doing the right thing. It hurts that I never made her proud nor my grandfather (whom I was named after) proud of me. The good news is I finally grew out of that ugliness and blossomed into a handsome adult. It hurts that my grandparents never were able to see the bloom because my dream was to make my grandparents proud of me. My heart has not been the same since my last surviving grandparent died. The only choice i have is to just be kind. Grandma Pat, I want you to be my Grandma instead. We're both born in May, I love your white hair, the type of Grandma I always wanted, and I also want you to be proud of me no matter what.

Hello Pat. I had to respond to your video and say I have donated several boxes of my mothers glassware to an animal shelter thrift store. Some of it will be put on Ebay to make more money. It had been sitting in my attic for 24 years so I wanted to pass it along to a worthy organization. It's always fun to see items that I remember which are now considered antiques. Can't believe I'm of that age!
