My first wild camp of 2024 was a nice easy one with some nice views of the Trossachs but unfortunately I had yet another gear failure as you'll see. This one could be expensive.
If you enjoyed my video or need advice on gear I'll be pleased to help and please consider buying me a coffee: www.buymeacoff...
Thank you for your support, it's really appreciated.
Here's a link to the Nitecore torch: www.amazon.co.... MT2A Pro"

What an amazing place to set up camp! Phenomenal all round views.I’m from England but cannot get enough of Scotland. It’s become mine and my Family’s second home since my first visit back in the 1980’s Starting off in the Scottish Borders.Our last visit was last November,up in the highlands close to the Isle of Skye.Totally an amazing place for which I will revisit one day.Hoping to do a two week tour of Scotland sometime this year,avoiding the months that the wee beasties are in full swing as they eat me alive lol! Stay safe out there Andrew and a happy New Year to you and your Family.

Happy new year Andrew. Another great video. Though trekking poles were a bit of a gimmick until I bought a pair earlier last year, as you found very handy bit of kit.

Great first Video of 2024 Andrew, hoping to get out to some of these places my self once I'm on the road after February. Pitty about the tent, Personal preference (obviously) but I'm no sure id be to comfy in those assault tents, but at least the walking pole saved the day. all the best and happy new year!

Good mod with the walking pole Andrew. I opted for an aluminium pole for the arch pole of my scarp because of my concern carbon poles shatter and not bend like aluminium so thanks for sharing this. Got the carbon crossing poles but thankfully not built in a pole sleeve. Love that tent btw.

I’ve had a couple of DAC alloy poles that spontaneously snapped around 2 or 3 in the morning when I guessed the temperature suddenly dropped. Think I prefer bendy poles rather than snappy ones 😂

I think this is the 4th video I am watching from your expedition with this futurelight tent. I am based in Canada and thinking about getting the NF bivy but I am really debating because of the condensation aspect...

For whats it's worth it's one of the most breathable single skins I've tried but if you are expecting conditions where it will wet out outside then it will stop working. Also sub zero it will just form ice crystals inside but solo never had an issue for my fast light single overnight trips. I guess it depends on your own use case. A

Nice video, thank your Andrew. Is that an MSR pocket rocket deluxe that you were cooking on? I got one for Christmas, haven't used it yet. If it is one, has the piezo failed as I saw that you were lighting it with a ferro rod?

Hi Andrew, love this video, one of your most atmospheric yet? I have a question. I bought a Lightwave Sigma S10 based mainly on your advice. It has been my favourite tent since taking up wild camping 6 years ago (and I have a Durston X Mid Pro, a Soulo, and an Anaris). Thanks so much for the advice. So the question, I would like to try the Sigma S15. I have a feeling it might be 'the one'. All I need is 3-4 inches more headroom and a slightly wider apex. Any idea where I can find one, new or second hand? Thanks Andrew
@AndrewParkOutdoors
@AndrewParkOutdoors 7 ай бұрын
Hi Mark, nice collection :-) Yes the S15 seems to be rare on the ground now. You could try Adam Lyczo on FB ( wildcamping.lifeuk ) as he's got one ? That's the only one I've noticed recently. A

@@AndrewParkOutdoors Thanks for replying and Adam was interested in selling at a fair price. Then he noticed a damaged pole section and a pinprick hole so wasn't comfortable selling it. Honourable man! Could buy a new one, I think? 😁

Haappy new year Andy! Sorry about your carbon crack. Since I saw yours I have had a TNF assault in the 'basket' a couple of times, but keep bottling out. Just not sure if it will be waterproof. What do you think?

Happy new year Dave! Yes it's winging it's way back to TNF warranty in Texas today. This model is deffo waterproof however I don't think you'd fit in it comfortably, its for Scottish short arses :-)

Yes on its way back to Texas under warranty ( we'll see what the say ) ! I reckon TNF was at it's best when they used to have the factory in Greenock, that annual sale was a magic time to stock up!

@@AndrewParkOutdoorsI agree. There’s been a marked deterioration in quality. They’re a high street brand now. I know they still do their Summit range but they’re for campus kids. It’s a pity. The VE tent was a legend.
