Thank you for all of your vids on the Nexus, felt I was really well informed before placing my order. I've been a Vango fan for ages and wanted an alternative to my loved but tired Hydra and something more windy stable than the Nature hike. Took the Nexus with me down to Dartmoor for a few days. While the weather wasn't extreme the Nexus didn't budge on the tors and hugs the ground like a Limpet. I did have concerns with height and porch space for cooking but with the tips you have suggested all was great for 6ft me. Loads of internal space for 1 person, genuinely big enough for 2. Cheers Andrew!

I think after a two or three years we will see how good this tent is in harsh weather or not! For me I like tried and tested tents! I am upgrading from my Abisko Lite 1, which has never let me down, to a larger storm proof 2p tent, with better head room and space, which has proven to be bomb proof and that is the Kuiu Storm Star 2p tent. Better in my opinion to Hilleberg Soulo BL (which I find to be a flappy tent making loads of noise wise in high winds) at half the price. I will be watching over the next few years what Nortent Vern 2 owners says about the tent on mountains in high winds and snow load environments! I have seen already that Nortent have upgrade the size of the poles for the Vern 2. We will see!

Last year during my hike on the West Highland Way I took the time to visit Inchailloch and stay there for a night on the camping spot. I am glad I took this detour for an extra day. It is such an amazing place. Thx for sharing.

Great review Andrew, thanks for the practical suggestions for making it more usable. I'm just wondering if there is scope to use a trekking pole with an extra guy line to hold out the door if cooking in the porch?
@AndrewParkOutdoors8 күн бұрын
Good question and something I was looking at. You need to tie cord to the door fastening buckle and then you could loop it over a pole etc. I've been thinking on doing the same. In fact if you make the tbs cord detachable you could prob use the same cord to hold the door when required. A

Hi Andrew, very nice video! How is this tent handling condensation? I am very tempted in buying one.
@AndrewParkOutdoors8 күн бұрын
Hi , no issues, just the same condensation a in still conditions as all my other tents. The cross vents are pretty generous so work well.

@@AndrewParkOutdoors Thanks Andrew for the answer. I was really put off at first by this tent having very small vestibules, but as for your tip that the inner tent floor can be pulled back for cooking etc, I am starting to think that this would be just perfect all around tent for me to start going outdoor canping with 👍🏻

It’s crazy that years ago Vango did the F10 Nitro 200 Lite at 1.4kgs…..I still have it along with the plus at 1.76kgs…….it is mad by today’s standards how light these tents were….they even had their own lighter footprints. Nearly had a video on the F10 Xenon UL Air but weather turned nasty for filming 🙄 I need to do a video on all the Nitros as I have them all

Love or loath this tent (I like it alot), there is no denying vango represents an extremely positive presence in the outdoor community (here in the UK at least). Long may they continue to do so. Out of curiosity Andrew, do you have it written in your will that you wish to buried with or in your favourite tent, the last act of a true tentaholic😂

I've just taken delivery of one and initial impressions reflect what you have said to the tee. I have done the same with the groundsheet tied to peg connectors and lifting the inner a little as well. The opposition was going to be a tunnel tent, so this is a lot more appropriate for my use of motorbike touring where I'm not counting the last few grammes, but do want somewhere for my kit and space to move on a wet evening. The stability looks good as I do like a campsite by the sea / up a hill and pack size is fine for putting in a pannier as well. Even the pegs look okay, but I have got some Ti nails for hard ground and can also be spares if needed. I did enquire if they had a groundsheet, but apparently not in the plans. Pity as that makes touring a bit easier when the kit's getting muddy. Hopefully they will do one before long. As for quality, I think it's good for the price point. Anyway, top review - thanks!

Thanks for this update - not many reviews around yet, which is surprising as it looks like a great value tent - sort of a mid point between the Wild Country Helm and Terra Nova Pioneer, but lighter than both. Been thinking about getting this for solo bike touring in uk and Europe, and occasional 2 person use. Looks like it ticks almost all the boxes 👍

👍😁 Good honest review Andrew. I have the vango f10 helium ul 1p and used it for wildcamping for the last 2 years. As I get older creeky and less nimble as I was. The F10 2p with the extra head room and space inside looks like an ideal upgrade for me. I tend not to venture out if the forecast is for very strong winds. But to be fare the little ul 1p holds its own really well.. I would how ever recommend a footprint to help with condensation etc . Great review and at only 1.8 kls it's actually not that much heavier than 1p helium.. 😁

I also have the Nexus, and I’ve just added a cheap, very lightweight footprint to keep the bottom protected. It’s the Gram Counter size L, from ultralight outdoor gear, and it fits perfectly. Just tied it with cord to the same points as where you recommended attaching the inner cord to the fly. 8000mm extra hydrostatic head, so should keep the floor dry long into the winter
@AndrewParkOutdoors10 күн бұрын
I've flooded out the floor couple of times now and no leaks so that should be bomber 👍

It's nice but shite design for a 4 season tent. It csnt be a 4 season tent when u csnt set it up in rain without it getting soaked wet 🤔 these days some tent companies really don't know how to label their tents. Apart from that, it's incredible for how light it is. But the inner to be up first to the put outer on that's silly. Defeats the purpose haha

The original Svalbard 1 SI has an additional flap of material inside the fly at the foot end, so that when the wind blows, it pushes the material down and closes the external mesh vent. At the head end, the fly has both zip-mesh and zip-solid window. The internal mesh windows are fixed but I believe the fly sheet options provide most of the necessary adjustments.

If you're considering buying this tent, it's worth reading the reviews on trustpilot etc. I purchased one, it came with a rip. They offered tape to fix. Another rip developed, too big for the tape and they wouldn't refund or even investigate as a defect. They would only apologise and offer LED light strips, all of which are useless if you have a gaping hole in your tent. We have a different tent from them and there's no problems there. I think the product is good if you get one without defects, but if you don't, the customer service is beyond useless. They simply do not care.

Hi what tent would you recommend for me I want a fair amount of space with enough room for cooking insidexwen I have to, been looking at your reviews of the f10 xenon so that's looking top spot at the moment, any others you would put in front of this for a similar price point? Thanks
@AndrewParkOutdoors25 күн бұрын
Hi Nathan, if you don't mind a slightly low profile the Nexus is very good so far. I also like the space in the 3f Ul Gear Taiji 2 though i wouldn't trust that in high winds tbh. A
