If you want to support my channel: www.buymeacoffee.com/somerandomguy1 Two small corrections: 1. The original version of Don Johnson's 'Heartbeat' was recorded by Wendy Waldman and not by Helen Reddy, so Reddy's version was also a remake, in contrast to what the Wikipedia article of the song states. 2. The band which recorded the original version of Robbie Williams' 'She's the One' was called World Party and not Worlds Apart. Thanks to JMein13074, Claus Rösler & Christian Goergen for spotting these mistakes!

Fun fact: Michael Bolton's "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You" was first recorded by Laura Branigan in 1982 or 83.. Even though Bolton was one of the writers on that song, his version (recorded in 1988) could technically be called a cover.

Correction on China Girl. David Bowie was on the original version of the recording by Iggy Pop. So, when people talk about cover means that the person who covered the song had not recorded it before as part of a band or remixed. Bowie was part of the band that recorded China Girl for Iggy. I noticed artists as a solo rerecorded songs that they did before as part of the band.

The lyrics for "Turn, Turn, Turn" are some of the OLDEST on the list. Check the Bible: Ecclesiastes, Chapter 3, v. 1-8. Author officially unknown, but usually acknowledged as King Solomon. whose reign was usually given as 970-931 BCE.

I'm sure a part 5 may already be in the works. Some suggestions may be: Stevie Wonder "Superstition" Dolly Parton "Here You Come Again" Eric Clapton 'After Midnight" Naked Eyes "Always Something There to Remind Me" Barry Manilow "I Write the Songs"--kind of ironic Patsy Cline "Crazy" The Carpenters "Superstar" The Bangles "Manic Monday" Heart "What About Love" and "All I Want to Do Is Make Love to You" The Go-Go's "Vacation" Robert Palmer "Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor Doctor)" Rick Springfield "I've Done Everything for You" Tina Turner "What's Love Got to Do With It" & "Better Be Good to Me" Huey Lewis & The News "Do You Believe in Love?" Madonna "Ray of Light" After the Fire "Der Kommissar" Uncle Kracker featuring Dobie Gray and Dobie Gray (solo version) "Drift Away"

If you are going to do an another one, Please include Nina Simone's cover of "Feeling Good" because apparently, It was written by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley for the musical "The Roar Of The Greasepaint - The Smell Of The Crowd". The first person who recorded it was Gilbert Price in 1964.

Yeah, but i think it would be sooner. However my suggestions for that video is that he must look into some hit songs of The Carpenters, Englebert Humperdinck, Tom Jones and Kenny Rogers; they had several hits that few people know are covered.

Just watched all four videos... I couldn't help but notice that "Friends in Low Places" and "Callin' Baton Rouge" weren't mentioned.... Garth Brooks had major hits with them, but FILP was originally released commercially by David Chamberlain. There is also a version by Mark Chestnut that came out a month later. Callin' Baton Rouge, also a hit by Garth Brooks, was originally released by the Oak Ridge Boys in 1978.

Consider a couple of themes from this: covers which changed languages, covers which altered the originals. Maybe even some artists who altered their own versions! Donovan released at least 3 different versions of "Colours". If you go to a Dylan concert you can bet that some of the songs will have different arrangements, lyrics etc. Dylan says the Hendrix's version of "All along The Watchtower" was how it should have been and now does it as a rock song rather than the folksy original. Looking forward to more vids!

I don't know where they got the idea that Pink Cadillac was originally recorded in 1984 when I photographed a band called Herb Gross and the Invictas in Rochester NY in 1980 singing Pink Cadillac up on stage as a cover. Who was the original? It wasn't in 1984, that's for sure.
@gingerbreadface
@gingerbreadface 3 жыл бұрын
No, they're correct. Pink Cadillac is a Springsteen original that was written around 81 for his Nebraska album; and then recorded in 83, released in 84 as a B-side to one of his Born in the USA singles.
