I've been feeling a bit down lately as I haven't been able to get out and take photos like I normally have thanks to work and health issues, seeing a video from you pop up helps. Thank you.

I’m there with you my wife’s sickness made me go back to a 9 to 5 to get insurance so my photography has been put on hold. Hang in there we got this.

@@DavidSenteno It sucks when you gotta work 9-5 and you love photography. Now I obviously am not a professional and I got into photography last year, but I do understand the struggle. Whether you like to shoot as a hobby or your photography earns you money, working a regular job will mess with your photography, especially if it's a job you work because you have to and not because you like it. I often miss many photo opportunities and sometimes have to turn down clients because I'm working a 9-5. When I was free, and was doing family portraits, birthday photos, prom or car photos, people loved it even tho I'm using beginner equipment. So that's encouraging. I hope you get through it and continue doing what you love!

@@astanisystems I appreciate the kind words and just knowing I’m not alone is comforting. Life happens and I have to believe there are always opportunities to grab my camera in the future.

@@DavidSenteno You're welcome. At the moment I can't make photography work better than my 9-5, but there's hope in the future for it. If anything, at least it could be a side hustle and a side hustle I would enjoy. Photography hasn't just helped me to see world from different perspective, but when you're going out to do street or wildlife, nature or landscape photography, you actually spend time exercising which is good for you. Like couple days ago when I walked a couple miles taking photos of my city. Loved it. Gonna do it again. I understand you completely and trust me, it will get better, just don't quit. I was at a point of quitting, but then something would always happen, was it from God I don't know, but I like to think it was. You're not alone, and it will get better, it can't always be a storm. Take care and don't give up, man.

This may sound like a weird compliment, but thank you for speaking as fast as you do, because I really enjoyed hearing the amount of content that you are putting out in as condensed of an amount of time as you are doing it in

I have been un-motivated lately with photography but your video has given me back the motivation and ideas to stay on track. Your idea on the subject related prints has me thinking. Back in 2015 and 2016, I used to photograph a lot of the city (building, nature, street) and it seemed I was grabbing a lot of attention form people (locals, etc). I even got featured in various online new outlets. I had a photo published in a local magazine, and one of my photos won a local photo contest! That magazine is no longer, tough. So I might have go back to my roots! Also been doing product and events so will check out macro product photography and cooperate event photography. Thanks for the great video as always! Such valuable content! Love all your videos!

With peace and love I would love more photo based content. And I know this is about photography but also just some relaxing pov videos or something would be a breath of fresh air. You’re a great photographer and I wanna see you do your thing!
@RanftEvan
@RanftEvan Жыл бұрын
Being 100% honest I’d love to do that more too. But sadly those videos rarely do well with views or new subscribers. It just doesn’t seem like people are interested, and they require exponentially more work. Driving to locations, making the pictures + video. Editing the photos. Ect. It wasn’t always like that on KZfaq but maybe that behind the scenes stuff has become over saturated. A lot of people started doing the same thing as me around late 2019 and early 2020. No hate but north borders and Pierre lambert are 2 big ones. North borders actually subscribed for a few days and then posted his first “pov” video. It is what it is and that’s how KZfaq goes. It’s difficult to put so much energy into something that’s no longer received the same way. So all that being said whenever I eventually make another one make sure to show love and I’ll keep doing them.

Hey Matthew. I feel you. I created a 15 Minute Slow Gaze video of some of my earlier photos. I paired it with an ambient track of mine. Maybe if you'd like you can check that out and let me know if it is a cool idea

I loved listening to your ideas and have circled a few to go back to, see if I want to do them again...but I can also add one I thought would be brought up: Schools!. I worked for a national school photography company for K-thru-High schools, and when 3 seasons of that was over, I had realized no one was doing PRE-SCHOOLS in my county of northern California. I built my own promos and method for envelope orders, found the lab I liked for picture order-days, got an Assistant, and used preschool personnel to coordinate the job between myself and the classroom people for getting the kids to my camera, hair combed (sterile combs provided by me), noses blown, clothes straightened, etc. It ended up paying me better in one season than my weddings did, as I eventually had every preschool in the county, and it was only 3 months of work per year. It was hard but fun, and so rewarding, both personally and professionally. Putting the packages together that had been ordered by the parents was a reason for great pride in myself and the product. Extremely successful! Low cost/high profit, one strobe with umbrella, one little ladder for posing, one indoor background, a manual Olympus OM-1 with 135mm for head & shoulders, plus class groups outdoors in beautiful Springtime surroundings as backgrounds. Maybe someone will see this suggestion and run with it. That was back in the 90's and I think there is still no one doing preschools there.

Excellent, head spinning opportunities. I only ever did 2 weddings as I didn't enjoy the stress, but more than 10 years later friends of those folks are still asking me if I'll photograph their upcoming wedding.... Breaking in to each area is hard but once you have momentum it just keeps going so long as you keeps standards up and dont get complacent.

Im the same I've done 3 weddings in my 17 year photography career. Really didn't enjoy it at all. Very stressful. Great way to make money and never have a free weekend ever again. I constantly consider it though. But not sure its worth the time and effort. I'd rather spend weekends with my family.

I'd never do it cause of this reason. I did help a friend out at his wedding though for extra shots and everyone loved them more than the dude they paid lol. But I'd never do it properly.... people have these wedding shots in mind that they expect and if you can't pull them off you're gonna get lip. Also imagine missing a moment (like we all do) that everyone expects you to have gotten :/

Been interesting in shooting concerts, shot a few with my iPhone and was able to receive appreciation from performing bands like Chevelle. My concern is will the lights and lasers from the show damage my sensor, I’ve been told it can happen if there not up to code. Considered soliciting my services at places like buckhead in Atlanta etc.. any experience with this in Atlanta would be dope! Thanks for the awesome video.
