As a cook i can see that those knife are good!!! Keep it clean and always sharpen your knives.

Definitely! They are very sharp out of the box. I prefer whetstones with sharpening, so will have to see how long they hold an edge. Cheers and thanks for the comment!

I collect many different knife, I have very expensive japanese Damascus knifes too. This knife is mass produced and you can find it with many other names. That's china Damascus, Especially if it's VG 10. I had knifes like these, if you polish it, the Damascus lines will disappear. I wouldn't buy a whole set of these, but they are ok for the price.

Thanks for the thoughts! I have not polished any of the knives, but can say they have served their purpose well and look great. Still very sharp after repeated use, so a plus! Cheers, and thanks again for your insight

If you polish any Damascus the pattern will disappear. However, if you dip the knife back in acid and then it should restore the original pattern. That is the real proof. Else nobody can tell if it is layered or not

Yes, it is real Damascus, but not premium. Still, for the price point, definitely worth it IMO. Cheers 🍻

Honestly, they are sharp and very ergo friendly. One of the best purchases I have made. Would easily buy them again

These are real Damascus guys, that doesn't mean it's GOOD Damascus though. I'd doubt the supposed VG-10 steel more than the Damascus effect.

I tend to agree with you. Definitely not premium Damascus, but Damascus nonetheless. Have held up extremely well with regular use. Still incredibly sharp and aesthetically pleasing. Thanks for the comment- cheers 🍻

VG10 core with that damascus folded over it?

It is Chinese VG10. Meaning most likely 10cr15mov steel. There is a channel called @Chefpanko who did lots of videos on these. Just because it is made in China doesn't mean they're bad. I had some of these.If the heat treatment is done correctly they're as good as Shun knives

@@rossanderson4156 exactly, it's a hit or miss. Heat treatment is the key. It doesn't matter if it's Damascus patterned or not

I ordered an 8" chefs knife of this brand and the 1st one had been very poorly sharpened. One side was not even along the edge and almost non existent in the middle of the blade where as the other side was pretty much completely non existent. It's like it was machine sharpened and misaligned and I would say I'd have more luck with a butter knife. The tip also had a kink and was not straight. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered another and although the edge was slightly better, it was still not the same over the length of the blade. It was sharper in certain parts than others. The tip had a chip out of it under the plastic guard and one of the rivels in the handle were loose and you could feel the sharp edges against your hand. You could also hear it poplin back and forth. These are mass produced and very poor quality control. I tried contacting the company and got 2 replies over 2 weeks basically telling me if I didn't like it then return them. I really did try to give them the benefit of the doubt but they are not a company I would ever buy from again. Very poor customer service and they really couldn't care less about giving customers a good experience with their knives. I would stay well away from this company and go pick a different company if you really want to try some of these Chinese damascus knives. Mass produced rubbish with poor quality control and a company that does not care about the end user in the slightest.
