The accuracy on the rifles doesnt seem to mean anything, I cant tell the difference between any of the rifles except on differences in bullet drop, which is accurate to the range stat, but has nothing to do with accuracy.

Ain't that the truth. The .338 Lapua is one of the flattest shooting bullets out there and has superior terminal ballistics.

@@WayStedYou At the time of writing, there was just the one Rangemaster 338. It was (Sorta) modeled off the RPA International Rangemaster chambered in 338 Lapua... Which in real life has a 5 round magazine... Unless they made a single shot version as well? Fast forward to today, they Introdcued the Power Pack with a gun that somewhat resembles the real Rangemaster 338 Lapua with the 5 round magazine. But Fandom says it's 338 Magunum? I never bought the Power Pack because the original 338 was bad. Not sure if they're any different in the game now. Either way, the guns in the game aren't true to life. But it's a video game, not a realistic Sim. Still fun!

hey your gun will usually go up, so just bring it down again, its probably way easier on pc. You can train shooting fast in the hirschfelden shooting range quite well to learn your weapons.

Yes, Flinter’s recoil looked less than I see... maybe extra skills or perks? My tip would be to leave the scope after your first shot, because it can move sideways as well as up. Locate your target in normal view, track it and zoom in for your follow up shot. I find this to be much quicker and more effective than trying to do it scoped. My monitor also has a cross hair is which is superimposed on the screen. This tells me where my scope will be pointing before I use it. I can therefore easily track anything, then go into zoom and it’s already targeted . Quite handy.

@@pingchen5291 it is in the shotgun perks I'm pretty sure the one that let's u fire a follow up shot much faster and gives less recoil

One thing I would recommend, if you want to take out multiple animals. Sneak into about 120 meters or yards and use the Hyperion scope. Much less zoom but your pretty close so you can get the second animal a good bit easier.

Always backup your files to a USB pendrive and/or PS+ brother, it'll really save your skin one day.

@@codywalker475 With pendrive you go to Settings, Save Data Management, there will be 4 options I believe and you choose the one that says it's locally stored data and then you select copy to USB storage device.

120 grain .243s? Never seen anything over 108 and they need faster twist to stabilize than the 1:10 normal rate.

If that were the case tho it still wouldn't make much sense. .243 is usually higher velocity then 7.62 x 54r but heavier grain. I wish they would make the ballistics realistic.

@@excalibur_maga6188 I believe the .243 is generally 75-100 grains and the 7.62x54r is usually 150-180 grains. The .243 usually is in the 2800-3000fps range and the 7.62x54r is usually around 2600-2800fps. It goes without saying that there are boutique loads for each rifle but I believe in real life the 7.62x54r is delivering more energy and has more capabilities at a farther range although the bullet will drop more. Each caliber has their uses.

@@Thecircustapes I understand this in real life as you have barrel lemth. And twist rate but I am highly doubtful the game has gone to the extent to model this but realistically difrent guns firing the same rounds will have very very similar preformance balisticly especially if they have similar barrel length and twist rate....but I think you missed my point. Why have stat bars if you are going have the guns preform this difrently

Drops animals quicker if high penetration bullets wouldn't help u hit more/better organs

Soft points have more expansion, emphasizing the shock factor. They kill by impact, while polymer tips typically kill by piercing organs

In real life, the polymer tips usually won't penetrate as deeply as the soft points. The Nosler Partition should be an option in the game.

I adjust my zeroing. So there's a perk under the rifle section for both short range zeroing and long range zeroing. Without any perk, the rifles (other than the .22, .470, .45-70, .30-30, and 9.3 -- hope I got them all) are automatically zeroed for 150m. Once you have one of the perks, you actually have to get short range to unlock long range, you can switch between 75m and 150m, and with long range, you get 300m as well. So long shots I zero for 300m and generally can aim right on :D

And you also need to up your rifle score. So if you start playing the game and buy the Yukon dlc expecting to have the 300 you need to shoot countless animals to up your rifle score.

But it also Kinda makes the game not really p2w

I actually hate when the gun is unlocked once you buy DLC. You are actually paying to not play a game. Where is the motivation to play it when all the stuff is unlocked from the begginning?

If you aim high on the lungs on things like bison, you can get double lung and spine which puts them down pretty quickly

30 06 is way better

Break-action if you're looking to make it a bit more of a sporting challenge. Multi-cartridge magazine if you need that quick, no-nonsense follow up shot. The 30-06 is great for long ranges and follow up shots whenever needed. That's about the same time, as well, that I noticed that Flinter prefers the 7MM. So, I acquired the 7MM but soon bought the .45-70 with the scope and currently use it with the 10 gauge shotgun (iron sights), .454 Casull (scoped) as well as the 70 lb pull composite bow (laser rangefinder scope) with 420 grain tracers for smaller harvesting/600 grain tracers for the larger stuff. Looking soon to pick-up the .300 Canning pretty much for the same reason I went with the .45-70....follow up shot capabilities. Even Jack Reacher needed a "warm-up" shot before the Gunney said to him, "PLAY BALL!". In addition, the .300 opens the door to better long range opportunities than that of the .45-70 which seems not to be the best choice for. However, the .45-70 is great for reloading speed and keeping the magazine tube topped off for those close-in, hip shot encounters with charging plains bison. As in everything else, it comes down to the personal preference of the individual based upon their needs.

I must give that weapon a spin then. I have it but haven't used it yet. Just need both a Gold moose and a Gold red fox to complete the Yukon Gold Rush Challenge. Mr. Moose....meet Mr. Hudzik .50!

Im not flinter and its been a year but, water buffalo are more commonly found in the southeast and i reccomend not taking frontal or quartering shots and only shoot them broadside aiming for the lungs, if an animal goes aggressive its best to shoot it in the head (unless its a potential diamond)
