ABOUT VEDANTA
Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions.

It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. feasible only after majority of the tendencies in unconscious memory are cleared out... through karma yoga / living in the present moment / mindfulness practice. This feels like the toughest hurdle in the path to enlightenment. Till this is done, it is not so easy to be happy always. Almost impossible. As Sarva said "purification of the mind" has to be done first via karma yoga. Makes sense?

Its interesting, Swamiji is the only Swami, when Im listening to him, i have a feeling that this is too simple My mind want to to be complicated, so it can solve it. Want it to be a challenge, which it needs to learn to crack it. But its not. The mind wants to be involved, but it has nothing to do with it, and can do nothing to reach the Reality...

Everything is done by the mind only. Mind has to meditate. Mind has to do vedantic meditation -- nidhi dhyasana Anyway... I've a subtle complaint here... About the "hammer hit the thumb, and ouch" example Sarva used at the end of this video... Sarva said "I am aware of the pain". Awareness doesn't think in language, only mind does. When there is pain and the pain is in my awareness, that doesn't make me the witness consciousness. The logic doesn't work out. I believe "awareness" is a function of mind, just like decision making, analysis, etc are. Mind is the only entity in the entire universe that is capable of being aware (whether it is in a human or in a dog or a cat), no other thing can exercise this function. And mind does this when it is illumined by pure consciousness. If Vivekananda is brahman, since brahman is the source of everything, why didn't vivekananda solve all problems of the world? I'm not referring to miracles. He could've done acts like hypnosis, telepathy, telekinetics, astral travel, etc and proved practically to the world that an enlightened being is brahman and is capable of doing anything and everything. Why isn't Sadhguru doing such acts now? It would've been so much easier for him to pull the entire humanity into meditation and to aim for enlightenment. He didn't because he can't. An enlightened person reaches the max stage of being able to be in a no-mind state whenever he wants, and during such state the source (pure consciousness) delivers all the best fruits into his mind -- like deep peace, bliss, love, ecstasy, intuition, etc. That's the limit (which is anyway mindblowingly huge). An ELed human can not act like a god. So, my point is... believing that "I am the awareness" is right and I, the mind is really aware. But believing that this awareness is witness consciousness or pure consciousness is just deluding ourselves. That is never gonna happen. For all practical purposes, any living being can not go beyond the level of his mind. His mind is his doorway into anything, even to receive brahman's fruits directly (without the involvment of the senses). Please comment back. Thanks for reading! :)

If telepathy, etc feel not correct for the stature of an ELed being, we can consider this example -- Suppose someone is about to die with some kind of cancer, let's say blood cancer. And doctors say all hope is lost, and that the existing scientific methods can not save him. The ELed person uses his special quality (owing to having continuous access to the source of creation), cleans up the cancerous cells, and saves the person. Many people would be pulled into the spiritual path if such acts get widespread popularity. Why isn't Sadhguru doing such acts now? It would've been so much easier for him to pull the entire humanity into meditation and to aim for enlightenment. I believe SG can, as he himself said that if people in Isha does such acts they will be removed from Isha. An enlightened person reaches the max stage of being able to be in a no-mind state whenever he wants, and during such state the source (pure consciousness) delivers all the best fruits into his mind -- like deep peace, bliss, love, ecstasy, intuition, astral travel, telepathy, telekinetics, etc. That's the limit (which is anyway mindblowingly huge). Hi, just wanted talk about one point of yours. Telepathy, hypnosis etc are said to be petty side hero acheivements of the bigger goal. One shouldent be side tracked by that, so why would Swami Vivekananda want to prove himself through that. Plus even if he did, some people would’ve either started worshipping him, the rest crucified him. We cant just say Sadhguru ‘cant’ do something because we are not Enlightened hence cannot know the possiblities. What if he can do it but wont because we live in Kalyug not Satyug where everyone is Spiritual. Getting everyone to be Spiritual in Kalyug might be against the Law of Karma and Nature. The world might not function and end the way a Kalyug world is supposed to. There must be certain rules an Enlightened one should also follow. Just a discussion, I myself is searching so cant claim anything to be certain.

@@zumbabollywood5707 Thanks for writing. BTW, after reading ur msg I got a doubt and rechecked mine. I think I wrote in a hurry and didn't proof-read before submitting the comment. I've corrected my previous msg. Basically, my points is ... I believe enlightenment is a super high stage, and acts like telepathy, telekinetics, astral travel, etc are "relatively" of lower level. I am with u for this point. I felt, if ELed beings, apart from their continuous teachings to the public so to help them by pulling them into the spiritual path, if they once in a while exhibited what they are capable of... not for show, not for hype, not for publicity... but when there is a real need... I guess that should pull a lot more people into the spiritual path. For example, someone is about to die with some kind of cancer -- let's say blood cancer. And doctors say all hope is lost, and that the existing scientific methods can not save him. The ELed person uses his special quality (owing to having continuous access to the source of creation), cleans up the cancerous cells, and saves the person I just came up with this example at the top of my mind. I'm not saying that's feasible. Just tried to give an example. The quantity of humanity that can be pulled into the spiritual paths grows multifold if such acts are done, and they are neither selfish nor for publicity. Isn't it.

@@madhukiranattivilli2321 hmmm but jesus tried to do the same thing by walking on water, healing some people (I havent read the bible but have heard stories, just googled and it said he healed a blind man and he could see physially) He has not acheived much by doing this, any christian you will talk to will never believe that that is something he also is capable of. I think by showing those miracles people got more confused, instead of walking on his path they started worshipping him. All my christians friends that I meet seem to treat Jesus as God or son of God and they feel he will come back and perform more miracles. They absolutely have no room for the idea that he/she can also be the same. Ok If we take an example of a person who understands an Enlightened being can show these miracles, right now he is following Sadhguru with a mind set of becoming Enligthened but doesnt have the idea of what he is going to achieve, if he sees Sadhguru healing a person who has Cancer, now instead of working towards unknown possiblities, he will kind of have an expectation and set a goal if not consciously but even in the subtler part of his mind. He will be sure that whatever he acheives he doesnt know yet but atleast healing someone from Cancer is a 100% possible for me if I get Enlightened. For a normal person on a spiritual path will be hard not to get attached to the idea. This will be a setback in his Sadhna. And people who are not at all on spiritual path will straightaway start worshipping him and create a separation between himself and Sadhguru (hes God, Im man), kind of like when he said he went in Samadhi and when he opened his eyes, there were garlends around his neck and all these people came to him with their petty problems. An Enligthened person would not wana get entangled and waste his time with that as the quantity of ignorant people is massive. Shlok 26 of chapter 3 also says you cannot unsettle the mind of the ignorant, and showing a miracle will most dfntly do that…. What do you think?

@@zumbabollywood5707 I'm trying to respond to ur points in top-down order... I believe "walking on water" is metaphorical. But, Jesus isn't alive right now. What I meant was... someone like Sadhguru (or Vivekananda during his time) using his spiritual power to make a useful change to the world (like the cancer example I used earlier), which pulls millions (or atleast makes them think deeply). Right now majority believe spirituality is bogus. And the concept is so subjective and so subtle and so dry, one needs to have real interest to find out what it is. I'd to spend few years watching lots and lots of videos before I got trust. Except Eckhart Tolle, till now I did not meet (or watch online) even a single christian who really understands either Jesus or the bible. There will definitely be, but I didn't encounter one. Exactly -- Jesus is "son of god" means, if we see in Advaita Vedanta terms, god is analogous to brahman and "son of god" is analogous to an evolved soul, with all tendencies cleared and with a high quality mind and body. It actually means atma (son) and paramatma (god) but I don't really know the difference between the 2. I don't think there is something called as consciousness and a high-level- or supreme- consciousness :) How will they recognize if Jesus comes back! If some westerner declares that he is Jesus will people trust him! By "I will be back", I believe Jesus meant another enlightened being (like Vivekananda or Ramana) or avatara (like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa). I heard there are techniques that enlightened beings can use to preserve their body and return after a huge time gap in the same body. Heard this in the context of Mahavtar Babaji. Sadhguru also said it is feasible to preverse body and re-enter. But, first hifi techniques have to be used to preserve the body. Jesus body wasn't preserved in the first place :) BTW, I saw a 2+ hour long OSHO video in which he described Jesus last days. OSHO said Jesus did not die on the cross. One wouldn't die if non-vital organs like toes and palms are pierced with nails. It takes many hours for blood to leave the system and body to lose consciousness and die. Jesus apostles tried some tricks to postpone the crucification into late friday evening (and saturday is sabbath day for Jews). And Jesus was brought down from the cross in less than 6 hours due to dying light. It seems Joseph recognized something special in Jesus and sent him to India to evolve (education, spirituality, etc -- budha influence was at peaks those days). Jesus studied in Nalanda university, learnt many subtle techniques coined by Buddha (obviously he died close to 500 years before Jesus went to India). It seems, that's why nothing much is known about teenage Jesus. Jesus learned (among many other things) how to slow down body activities including breathing, and they thought he died on the cross. He was put in a room (I donno the correct words to described) after bringing down from the cross, and it seems Jesus escaped from there after his realization that those people aren't ready to understand his teachings. It seems, predominantly the roman empire got irked with Jesus's words like "I am the son of god", etc. I don't understand why Jesus can't explain his enlightened in unambiguous words! It is puzzling to me. Since Jesus is familiar with India, he traveled to India after escaping, and lived till age 112 (somewhere around that age) in Kashmir, under a different name. OSHO said Jesus tomb is present in Kashmir even today. I enjoyed the story without bothering the percentage of truth in it. And, to my surprise, few months later, I watched a BBC video on youtube, which exactly matched with OSHO's talk about Jesus like above age 100+ in Kashmir. The video even showed the place of his tomb. I used the cancer example to say about the possibility of attracting many more into spirituality than the situation in the world right now. But once someone enters the path, the path would remain the same. In Advaita Vedanta language -- shravana, manana, nidhidhyásana. I'm just referring to the increase in the percentages. The separation already exists. Try to criticize (obviously with respect) Sadhguru on social media with some valid logical point, and U will be attacked by his blind followers, who wouldn't even try to understand the point being raised, and without wanting to refute with logic. Just blind trust. Yes -- I agree about ur final point. That's why I corrected myself earlier and replaced with the cancer example. Ignorant people are high in numbers. I liked ur logical analysis of my original point. If I take a step back and look at all this, I shouldn't be actually concerned with what an ELed being should do, and I should just focus on my path. I just enjoyed this discussion with u. And, on closing note, I must say, I realized, spirituality topic is so subtle, one needs to have a certain level of intelligence to really understand the concepts, the logic involved, the subtle points. That's why I guess majority just settle with some guru, instead of trying to understand properly and be independent in their path. They don't realize that great people like buddha, osho, sadhguru, ramana, etc have all did on their own, and with no continuous connection with some guru. Thanks for reading! :)

@@madhukiranattivilli2321 yep I agree with you about Jesus walking on water is metaphorical, I think even curing the blind man also means showing him the truth, like ‘Tamaso ma jyotir gamaya’. Im very much interested in watching Oshos video about Jesus, makes alot of sense about bleeding to death just by nailing his limbs…..! About not pulling the crowd towards spirituality by showing a miracle, I actually read somewhere (I think one of Bihar School of Yogas book) that an Enlightened being is not allowed to show miracles, it didnt give a reason why though. But looking at Viveka or Sadhguru or Ramana etc they also never did, obviously there must be some law that they are following as there must be consequences that you and I cant think of, otherwise atleast one of them would have come out in public and done something because even for them it would have been so much easier to get large number of people to get on the path quickly but all of them chose the harder way for some reason. I feel how they are going about it is good becoz this way, the ones who have travelled a long journey are ready to receive. The ones who are following them blindly are also on the journey and and will be ready to receive one day. But the ones who are not ready at all maybe they still have to pay intense Prarabhda Karma(where Ego feels the pain totally) before they mature enough to receive (i dont know, im just sharing my thought)… For eg: I just had a baby 5 months ago all by myself at home without any medication. There was pain but I didnt suffer becoz I knew Im not the body and Im not the mind, Iam the witness conciousness and Iam not affected by this (shravanan, mananan and nidhityasana), now I have tried to give knowledge to another pregnant woman (shravan) but she is preparing for her birth like any other ignorant person driven by Ego would do, so obviously theres no mananan and forget nidhityasana. She isnt ready and I was. Yep it was great having this chat with you my friend.
